Sorry, Aleksander, and I feel the same way. If this COROS watch continues to impress me, yeah... I'll need to sell a few older gadgets to pay for this one - the price tag was $500.00 USD.

Nice you finally got one ! I just sent my coros pro 2 back😢 once you use garmin it’s hard to get use to something different. It still has no save locations without being in an activity snd the band mechanism sucks. It’s hard finding a band that will work with that watch

Yep, I finally got my wrists under a COROS timepiece. Going on Day Three now with the Apex2 Pro. I'm happy with the Velcro band that came with this Kilian Jornet edition, 'tis quite comfortable to wear all day & night.

Going on Day Four now and my favorite features thus far is the HRV test, the scroll wheel/middle button, and the watch faces. Oh yeah, the the battery life widget - wow! I don't know what it is, but I have been fascinated about battery life, solar charging, charging speed of gadgets, and just how long does a gadget last with daily usage...

I have a love hate relationship with Coros. I love the hardware and the battery life but the analysis of the data is lacking compared to a garmin forerunner or fenix series. I also miss real maps I do a lot of hiking in the backcountry and routeable maps with labels and trail names etc is important to me. However, this watch looks so good I might give it a try. I’ve given up on using these as smart watches I use a Apple Watch ultra for that and usually pair with a garmin or something for long distance hikes. Let me know how you like. Also you won’t get any performance metrics until you have accumulated 300 mins of running or something like that. I’m confident that Coros will continue to update their watches with new features and I like the price point. It’s easy to go broke buying $1,000 garmin watches all the time.

Wonderful thoughts, Dale, and thank you for all those details.Today is my day five with the COROS and yes, I am liking the timepiece and cannot help but compare to a Garmin Fēnix 7X. The price difference is a solid $400 to $500 more for a Fēnix 7X; alas, I think humans are on the fence whether to buy a Garmin, Apple Watch ULTRA, Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Pro, or a COROS, right? Looking forward to the 300 minutes of exercise. We're you able to find a leaderboard with the COROS app or is just non existent?

You can think of it this way. Imagine this were a Tag Heuer Connected watch with a better build than a Garmin. For me at least, I would understand if it wasn’t quite up to par with Garmin’s software. You’re paying a premium for the quality of materials and design. I currently have a Forerunner 965 and it’s great but it just looks like a run of the mill Samsung smartwatch. I’m considering this Apex 2 or 2 Pro.

I want to like this device! I had a Coros Apex a couple of years ago and I really like the company's chutzpah. I also loved its Strength workout setup on the watch in particular. One nag I had was that notifications were not synced between it and my phone (dismissing a notification on the watch did not dismiss it from my phone). Has that been fixed with the Apex 2 Pro?

@@PeterHerget I rocked the apex for a while but I had too much invested in the Garmin ecosystem so I'm currently rocking the Venu 2 plus / Fenix 6 combo. But there were definitely some things I liked about COROS so I defs am cheering them on.

I don't know for my Apple iPhone 12 Mini has too many gadgets paired and I decided to pair it with Android 13 via my OnePlus 9 Pro. I may do an Apple Pairing test in a week or so.

Over a year later and... yes, I was able to pair several COROS watches to an Apple iPhone. The COROS watch pairs nicely with both Apple and Android smartphones.

If you just do running, you may enjoy the COROS; overall, Garmin has a better ecosystem, the challenges are fun, Garmin has a leaderboard too, and your ForeRunner 965 will be a more refined timepiece, yes, go with Garmin and enjoy your athletic life...

@@mickeyyybiker Sorry, just seeing this comment now. The COROS Apex 2 Pro is an amazing timepiece, and yes, a smartwatch. If you're looking for a watch that lasts for weeks, tracks your workouts, and gives fabulous feedback about running, cycling, walking, and more, yes, go with COROS. If you're looking for a leaderboard and need the friend interaction, well... COROS syncs with Strava as does Garmin. Both watches are fantastic for runners, yet Garmin is a step ahead of COROS when it comes to sleep tracking, coaching, and processing naps. I am working on a video comparing the Garmin versus COROS and it will include more details.

Just got this watch and right out of the box I had firmware update issues. From past reviews I was worried about the screen brightness and sadly it does disappoint, the screen is dim and has zero pop at all. Maybe for $200 but not worth $500!

Did you try enabling "Night Mode"? I felt with night mode enabled the screen was plenty bright enough indoors and at night. Sorry to hear about the firmware update issues - I have had that happen with Fitbit, Fossil, and many others.

The COROS Apex 2 Pro, this wearable is... complex, simplistic, and a version 2.2 of a smartwatch for runners. I have a detailed PROS & CONS video coming out very soon. I am wrapping up the edits now. Brightness 1. it lacks an auto-brightness sensor and for $500.00 it should have one 2. there are no brightness levels - it is on or off as a backlight 3. yes, it is plenty bright enough indoors & outside 4. the raise-to-wake setting needs more customization 5. the screen resolution is about equal to that of a Garmin Fēnix 6 series
