Today we take apart our broken Corrado door handle and install one of the machined aluminum repair kits ... how hard could it possibly be??!!
You can find the original VWVortex discussion thread here:
www.vwvortex.com/threads/audi...
Here's one place you can get the Audi TT Mk1 aero wiper arms (you need two of the same part):
parts.cartervw.com/p/Volkswag...
Here's the part# for the Valeo 20" blades that fit these arms:
900206B - you can search this part number on Amazon or various parts sites.
Or you can search for a 2010 BMW X5 passenger side blade.
Also... check out my Amazon affiliate link here for all sorts of car parts, tools and helpful things for your projects: www.amazon.com/shop/cliffjumper
If this didn't help you out in showing you how to accomplish something productive on your own vehicle, I hope this at least gives you something to amuse you for a little while. Why not check out some of my other videos while you've got some idle time on your hands?
Make sure to like, subscribe, and share if you are a car enthusiast who enjoys working on your own car as a shade tree mechanic or fellow grease monkey, or if you just enjoy watching the misery of trying to keep one of the best driving cars ever produced in actual running condition!
Not even Ratarossa, Scotty Kilmer, The Car Wizard, Johnny the Car Ninja, Hoovie or Tavarish would dare tackle the insanity of resurrecting and modifying a 214,000 mile Corrado VR6 at the same time as a vintage Fiat Spider and maintaining a 241,000 mile 1.8t Jetta while tooling around in a 178,000 mile Mk4 R32 daily driver!! But I'm a special kind of crazy.
If you have an .:R32, Corrado, Fiat, Alfa, or some other weird quirky car that is a challenge to keep on the road, please share in the comments! If you've got a Sequoia, have pity on the other car owners whose vehicles will not outlast the rest of civilization as we know it.

I had these things in my parts storage for at least five years before I finally got around to installing them. Way overdue.

Great video cliffjumper. Just ordered them through your links. This is one of those mods you need to do on a corrado along with manual seatbelts and ecodes to really enhance the ownership experience 👍

I drive my Corrado VR6 here in Germany with a so called "H" license plate. Which means that the car must be more than 30 years old and it must be in a very good original (!)condition. You have some benefits with this H- license, especially concerning air - pollution and so on. So I fear the fierce controls for your right to use this H- license don't allow the use of state of the art wiper- blades. But of course I have the same problems with the Corrado- wipers, especially on the driver side. My solution is up to now: 1.) bought some years ago a new wiper-arm from VW, which cured the problem for some years. But this year the problem was back. And you cannot bey a new arm anymore. 2.) Therefore I took the wiper- arm into the bench- vice and bent it cautiously a little bit. You will not notice it but it cured the problem. The lupo- wiperarm conversion is the advice of the Corrado- scene here but I fear it's also in conflict with the H- license. I must confess I also tried your solution with removing some stuff on the original arm but was'nt able to reach the part with my small grinding tool. I think I must try again.

I think Lopo are is what most people are using. I’m not sure what I have on my car as ex owner changed it. I think however it is Lopo, so it’s always odd when people say the corrado wipers suck I’ve never noticed any difference 😅

Makes sense - We didn't get the Lupo in the USA, though I understand there are a few running around Mexico.

Wow, thanks so much for making this video and sharing. I think I enjoyed seeing you do this wiper mod more than a VR6 swap😂 I always couldn’t stand those skipping wipers, but God bless you bro for pulling this off. I’ve been wanting to do a single euro wiper mod for a while. Something like you would see on the 190 E Mercedes Cosworth do you know where I can find a euro wiper that would do the job?

Bonrath used to sell a mono wiper kit, and knowing how tuners work, I guarantee it was an off-the-shelf OEM part for some Euro car or another. Possibly from a BMW 2002, possibly from a Mk1 Scirocco. I can't say I'm familiar with all the Euro cars that had mono wipers, but I'd start by compiling a list and doing some research to find out what the wiring looked like to control them. There's plenty of room under the scuttle on the Corrado for just about anything to fit, so I think it's mainly going to come down to finding a wiper motor that works with our wiring. Then you can do some measurements to find a wiper arm/blade combo that will give you the most coverage.

@@CliffjumperCars Yes that’s right, now that I think about it. I believe the Mono wiper that most VW enthusiast used for the Corrado was from a MK1 Scirocco possibly the Bonrath one,But I would really love to see if that 190E Mercedes Cosworth would fit a lot of modification right there.

Where you able to use the same hardware to mount them? I thought I remember seeing them having to change the nut and the cap because of the sizing difference.

Used the original hardware: nut with the tapered shoulder. Lots of people apparently lost these over the years somehow and replaced them with MK3 nuts & washers, which are taller and don't fit under the round covers. But yes, in the original VWVortex thread, it covers the difference between these nut sizes.
