Day 4 Episode 3 (Friday 7th July 23). The final day of the tour continues with us returning northwards following the coast from Corran to Glenelg with a detour down a dead end road to Balvraid and a visit to Glenelg War Memorial. Paul did the tour on his Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and I did the tour on my Royal Enfield Scram 411.
This video almost didn’t see the light of day as my hard drive containing the video file developed a fault whilst trying to upload the original video. This may be the final video of the tour if it the remaining video footage of the tour cannot be recovered from the drive.
Third, and hopefully not the final video of the day, see’s Paul and I heading back from Corran for a tea break at Glenelg. We took a right turn at Eilanreach and headed east following the river towards Balvraid. As we headed along the tree lined roads the smell of the trees and the flowing of the river to our right evoked childhood feelings of exploring and discovering new places. Eventually we reached the end of the road, heading back towards Eilanreach and onwards to Glenelg where Paul and I stopped to have a look at the Glenelg War Memorial. I couldn’t help notice that although the sky was cloudy and grey, the memorial seemed to have a glow about it, it seemed to be bathed in brightness, I hope this comes across in the video. The experience certainly resulted in my reflecting about the diversity of communities and walks of life that young men and women left to fight for King and country. I can imagine the emotions that they may have experience leaving such a beautiful place knowing that they might never return.
Leaving the memorial Paul and I headed to Ruth’s café for tea and refreshments.
