Hi hope all is good. Just wont you to know that I am doing my first tranmission work on my truck and i have been looking at the videos of your work and i like to say thank you so much for listening all your experience it sure is great .i am having trouble with 3rd gear i will keep you updated on this job again thank you so much .
I wouldn't worry about it. You're not going to have a 3 4 shift that is too hard. I've been blocking that feed hole ever since the 4L60E came out in 93 and the only thing it does is apply the 2 4 band quicker on the 3 4 shift only. It's best if you drive the ball in on the opposite end of that hole. I block the 3 4 accumulator on 700s and 4L60s also been doing so since 1982.
It's all about the shift feel. Lots of people have built these over the years, this was just how I do it. Not saying it's a wrong way, just that there are people that are smarter than I that found something that works for them....
@@IrocinZ Yeah brother we'll go with an hour wink wink Lol . Looks like you might be running a one man operation at home like I do. I like it like that.
Royal Pain in the hands there man. That would be something I would do....miss things due to doing so many and just ASSUMING. yah man, I've Nevaa dun that one but maybe twice,,,The real kicker is it was one I rebuilt about 15yrs ago and THAT ball was in the instructions to be pressed in, peened over like that one was and then even the CENTER Check Ball was also instructed to be Pressed in to eliminate any leakage thru the steel shaft hole.....YEAH, I know but those were the instructions from the supplier back in those days....It is what it is Man. ANYWAY,,,I have retired professionally but still keep helping good friends with their mechanical needs. I used to be AUTO DOC and had my own 2 man shop and did everything from Fab to minor repair. Mostly did a lot of PERFORMANCE SHHHTUFF for Autocross and the 1/4 mile STRIP. (I make up my own words at times just for the Funny aspect,... kinda like I've heard yours...Good on ya Brother.) Keep u- the great videos man and keep it real. Love your style and that you're trying to share your experiences... See ya in the Funny Papers.
Nice video. It happens to miss. I HATE when people jamb check balls like that. What you can do is tap that hole and thread in a plug. That way if you need to reverse the plug you don’t have to go through what you did. Just screw it out!
Took me A LOT of videos to find information about the 3-4 accumulator. You might want to re-title the video that mentions the (4l60e 3-4 pinless accumulator) to get more views. This was very helpful as I wasn't sure how I wanted to tackle this section.
@@IrocinZ Yes- but not on the 3-4 and that hole. I ended up using a 1/4-20 tap and 3/4" long set-screw with red locktite and left the piston out. You don't even have to drill it to tap it. I used this video to know what hole to tap. I understand you want to keep it in there for factory reason.
@@deeeeeeps So are you referring to the 3-4 accumulator??? That's a whole different story than the servo. Yes you can block the accumulator. It's mainly for a cushion anyway
next time, weld a small nut to the top of the check ball, then weld a long bolt to the nut.. use a slide hammer with a C notch in the bottom to grab the head of the long bolt, then whack it out.
