Absolutely awesome. Your detailed step by step instruction and awesome camera work in such confined spaces is most commendable indeed. Well done. I will now do the same with my corsa c by following your steps you went through. Thank you so much for sharing this. Much appreciated. Dave from South Africa.

We managed to do the job without removing the brake servo (we stopped at 07:40 in the video), instead, we were able to reach round to clean out the gunk and apply new sealant with our fingers. It was fiddly, but not as fiddly as trying to remove the bolt at 13:03! So so grateful for such clear instructions, thank you.

Thanks very much for this video, superbly well done. I've had a go at this but getting the brake servo off was too much for my experience in car mechanics. I even left the white bottle in place on top of it. I discovered that the only place the sealing had broken was at the bottom right, underneath all that clutch cable that goes to the white bottle. All the rest appears to be alright so I dried that area off with my air compressor and dug out most of the broken sealing just at that one place, then filled it with silicon. It's a bugger to get at being as that cabling is in the way but I found that by dropping the silicon down there I could get my fingers in to press it down. You can get your hand in from the left side aswell. I also used some tools, like a long reach scraper and a bit of tubing on the end of a long reach screw driver. I've tested it by pouring water over it with a watering can (and the rest of the sealing) and it's not leaking inside the car but I suppose only time will tell whether I've got away with it by not removing the brake servo. I'm wondering whether to finish off the job with a coating of undercar sealant.

Absolutely loved your video. I've been piling newspapers under my mats on the drivers side and changing them every few days. I won't be able to do what you did but I appreciate the way you explain each detail. My Corsa is an 04 reg and getting old and crochety like me. I'm a female pensioner by the way. Thanks for sharing your motor knowledge really enjoyed it. Now where did I put those newspapers? 🤔😊

That was great thanks, still a bit intimidating for a first timer. I've got a 2017 SRI and yet it still has the same problem, even had seedlings growing in the footwell! VX should have sorted this by now. Anyway, thanks for including the really essential bit - putting it back together again.

A great detailed video. I have a Corsa C which suffers from the same sort of leak (obvs) but I just put two opened out newspapers under the car mat which soaks any leakage up. Carpet is bone dry. Just remember to change the papers when they’re wet right through. It’s so effective this way that I’ve put off fixing it properly especially as the car is getting old now. That said the mileage on mine is a genuine 69k on an 04 plate. Other than the leak everything else is immaculate.

All corsa C have this problem check the BCM seal also..:)) My sons is coming in the passenger side footwell about to look at it tomorrow, Nice build i can remember doing a conversion on an astra from Carb to injection it was a great learning curve, we put an injection system on the 1.8v carb and turned it into fuel injection..Was great fun car was a lot smoother and faster but miss the sound of carb fed engine.The whole top end of the engine had been properly polished and ported many hours spent on it, we should have strengthened the bottom end because it only lasted about 2 weeks before it blew the bottom end...The old vauxhall 1.8 astra gte 8v had many issues with the bottom end knocking.

I did mine today and it went really well, used rubbing alcohol to get it super clean and a hairdryer for 20 minutes. I used sikaflex 221 polyurethane sealant . Make sure the nuts on the servo and master cylinder are tight, and that the vacuum hose is plugged back in, or you might get a hissing sound or have stiff brake pedal. Thanks very much for the video :)
@marchay8052
@marchay8052 4 года назад
I am having problems with my breaks and the hissing sound also the engine was juddering. Do you mean the bolts that connect the break pedal to the servo are on tight? Thanks
@colintx800
@colintx800 4 года назад
@@marchay8052 You wanna make sure both sides are tight, But more so on the engine side, Make sure the servo is seated correctly. The hissing sound could be coming from the vacuum hose that plugs in the back of the servo 26:22 ?? Have you plugged it in properly ? Check the hose on both ends and also check for cracks. You could spray a little WD40 along the hose and if the engine sound changes then you will know it's the hose. Is the pedal rock solid when the engine is started ?? When you start the engine with your foot on the brake pedal the brake pedal should drop a little.
@marchay8052
@marchay8052 4 года назад
I think it's the break servo seal to the bulkhead I am going to get a new seal for it. Is thier suppose to be some sort of seal for the master cylinder to the break servo aswell?
@colintx800
@colintx800 3 года назад
@@marchay8052 I know 1 is a spongy type gasket that goes between the servo and the bulkhead. There should also be a thin black O ring underneath the master cylinder 26:40 that makes the seal. If you have no O ring then that's most definitely gonna be a problem. I also did a google search and other people who had this problem replaced the servo with a second hand 1 and the problem went away.

Danny Gault, there’s a rubber gromet underneath the drivers carpet. Just take it out. Your issues will be solved. Btw did you replace the brake servo seal or not. That’s were it’s coming from. Some people have also laid a silicon seal line from where the windscreen meets the plastic trim. It safeguards a tiny bit.

Good video lad. It's a hell of a job. I spent about 7 hrs to do a to z. Just a tip, I used plumbers gold, it dries in 4 hours and even underwater. General silicon has to cure in and dry in at least 2 days. And also install a brand new seal for the brake servo, only £4 from vauxhall dealers but it's worth every penny. Rest spot on. Btw, a lot of people will have problem when they put the brake light switch back inn 😁

Danny Gault, I had the same problem but then was messing about and figured out the switch. Another thing I would suggest is to use paper clips or pegs to press on the brake fluid pipe so you don’t have to bleed the brakes. Was a learning curve but corsas are really easy to work on.

Turns out theres another leak , well not really a leak but the aircon pulls water out the air and it should drain out into the engine bay through an L shaped pipe which is kinda squished at the end if the pipes blocked you get wet carpets on the driver side again.

Most nuts and bolts on a Corsa are 10, 12, 13 and 17 so you are good to go. There are some 16mm nuts and bolts but not many. There are a lot of torx bolts on a Corsa too so it might be worth getting some torx sockets or drivers.

Don’t bother doing it from the engine bay. Just pull up the carpet and use salient in front of the foot pedals and push it into the cut out section of bulkhead. Saves you loads of time and you have the carpet up for drying. Use a cord to hold up the carpet and air dry, with the doors open.

Does any air get into the brake system when you remove the brake servo?🤔 or at any point during the fix?
@greenedwardian1546
@greenedwardian1546 11 дней назад
You only loose fluid when you pull off that gray clutch pipe. I drianed off some of the fluid into a jar and then bunged the pipe and union. When re-connecting is used a syringe to top-up the clutch pipe before reconnectingand then filled with fresh DOT 4. Don't seem to have any problems or noticed air in the system since. Only drain off the least possible amount of fluid is key.
