@@haromaster6086 Gonna have to call cap on that one also. There's no way a gt350 is running the same 1/4 as my stock b8.5 S5 (yes I know its awd vs rwd) but with tires it wouldn't matter much, stock I ran 13.1 consistently. Quick interwebs search shows stock the gt350 should be running 12.3 so running 12 flat isnt at all farfetched. Dont be that fanboy.
You also know its all in reaction times along with not missing a gear and tire set ups. Gt350 and any Vettes are evenly matched. It can go both ways on wins.
I did an 11.1 lifting early in my Z06. When I was at the track there were 2 other stock Z06 running in the mid to high 10s. The Z06 in the video did not launch right. He was spinning so bad he gave up. This video does not represent the average Z06.
That Z06 needs a driver mod should have been in the 11s. The GT350 driver had they upped the fronts to 45 and the rears to 26 may have broken into the 11s. A stock 5.0 10 auto ran 11.8 with that setup on stock tires
The gt350 might have a minor tweak because stock times are usually 12.3 @ 119. The Corvette, though, should have taken it by a hair if it had a better driver. The gt500 once it hooks up, wow!
I disagree on this for the reason and reality is these 2 vehicles are mostly evenly matched making it go both ways on wins. It's all in the reaction times not missing a gear. Gt500 though it needs to be racing Exotic vehicles cause nothing can beat it on muscle car's.
@@lincolnls0416 ……..The GT350 and the Z06 are not even close to being even. The Z06 has over 100hp more and almost 200 lb more torque. The GT350 is a horrible drag car, lots of times losing to cars with less HP. Keep it on the track where it was designed to shine.
I was there racing sep3 and the gt500 was running low 11’s that night and he did run away from the manual Z06 but that’s normally the case when someone is just learning their car. It’s street night and most of these guys are amateurs when you see a .6 light it’s a good indicator there’s lots to be learned.
@@vlavtopdzija1559 I’m not too sure, usually the Z06 never loses in the top end, and the mustangs are never too great in those higher speeds either, so something was probably done to the 350
Why is it Government Managed owners can't give respect to Shelby for making a badazz Mustang. I see Gt500 smoking Demons by half a car length. I seen Demons smoke Z06s. Come on now. Stop hating on Ford for bringing back Muscle.
Stock for stock, IF you have a Demon driver who knows what he/she is doing it will easily beat a GT500. The problem is most don't know how to launch their cars.
@@jtc1964x sorry even professional race car drivers have lost to the Gt500. Already been proven Gt500 is the fastest of them all. Only a Demon beats a Gt500 is if the driver in the Gt500 is caught sleeping at the light.
@@jtc1964x 😂😂😂your on drugs i met the man in person and he even said stock for stock Gt500 will leave him by a half car lengths. Next calm you watch is video's how does he lose alot against Mustangs with a Demon that has tons of aftermarket parts. Yeah man please don't ok. I throw education down on you if you want it. Look up tangstang stock engine added 2 Turbo's and made Demonolgy look like a rookie driver that lost huge. Next Demonolgy also don't hide his videos getting smoked by Mustangs even Gt500s, Gt350 even Stangmode beat him in his Gt500.
I raced against a couple of 'vettes, and neither had what it took. The first was in a '64 1/2 Mustang, with a hopped-up 260, on the dragstrip. The second was in a '66 Fairlane 390 GT, with a 3 deuce setup. The '68 'vette took off from a green light, burning rubber. I passed it in 2nd gear. I really think the things are overrated.
@@joemomma7183 mine all ran pretty damn good. My 260 put more than a few 283s and 327s on the trailers. I got beat by less than a length by a 69 Z28, and by a 69 AMX with their 390. A friend has a record holder 428; at least it was back when he bought it.
@@joemomma7183 those dogs never could beat my Fords. My 260 took 273s, 318s, and 360s. A 352, in a 57 Fairlane embarrassed a lot of 383, mostly in Chargers, and Roadrunners. I have no respect for the brand, except the 426 Hemi, and would bet on a SOHC 427 against one of them. Hell, the cam-in-block 427, is their match, a lot of conditions.
Those aren’t toyo R888Rs. They lack anything that can be seen that would give them away and look identical to stock. Also, a 12 is possible for a GT350, just very very hard, requiring a perfect launch and perfect conditions. The driver got super lucky with the launch (as the GT350 is not a great car to launch at all and it’s a bit of luck as a GT350 owner myself.) and conditions and had the skill to take the opportunity and not fuck up. From what I can see
The new C8 has only 495 horsepower and can easily run 11.40s and have seen completely stock ones with stock tires run 10.90s because it leaves most expensive supercars 3 car lengths in 60 to 90 feet off the light as they try to run it down closing the gap at 3/4 track but all I've seen have not been successful doing so in the quarter mile if not modified besides a electric Tesla that are fast but can't say l like a thing about them other than they are fast
Love how everyone thinks they know what these cars run in real world. Calm down keyboard warriors. You dont know as much as you think do. First off times will vary massively depending on the DA. Also all season tires hate concrete. Actually buy one of these cars and spend time at track and street races. Dont try to compare any cars that were not races at the same place and time. And understand when you read a time that you found on dragtimes, most of the time that car did it once. I see hellcat chargers struggling for 12s. It's not because they dont know how to post the skinny pedal. That's what it's going to do trying to launch stock tire on concrete at 7000ft da.
Best I’ve done in my 350 is 12.7 @116. Im in no way a trained driver, just a car guy. Possibly a really good driver or some mods there. Best time I’ve ever seen in a 350 without heavy mods for sure
Then wait Ford drop Godzilla in the Mustangs like in the mid to late 60s 429s made Ford unbeatable again. Like they are now. Even GM don't have anything to keep up with Dodge like Ford does. 😂😂😂
@@lincolnls0416 you can’t compare dodge to Chevy dodge focuses on straight lines while Chevy does track times Ford is a bit interesting though I do think the c8 z06 is faster than a gt500 but let’s see
I think the Z06 should be a bit quicker. Perhaps it’s because it’s the C7 model and it’s not mid-engine but I know for a fact the new 2023 C8 Z06 should be able to take both the 350 and 500 without a problem. Either way the 350 is not a drag race car, it’s a race car for the track.
It will be a looong time before they are completely banned. But as the EV market moves in, cars like this will become a rich man's leisure as they will be able to afford the increased value, rarity, and design. Also gas will probably be $9/gal and it will just keep going up.
As always it's a Ford and Chevy duel. I don't usually give the Pony car much of a chance against a Corvette. I believe that the Vet driver was snoozing for a moment there. Perhaps I could put my 63 Ford Falcon with a three on the tree up against that Vette. For some reason I can see Jim Carrey saying smokin.
For all the corvette losers that are but hurt over a real car beating a vette needs to go back to school. Need to get education cause the corvette is overrated. Demon or a Scat pack 392 smoke any corvette. They lose to the Gt500 and on the elevation levels or sea levels corvette gets worse. GM will and can't not build anything to compete anymore. Grand National was basically the last competing car they had besides the Firebirds. Why GM is hurting so bad and hurting even worse cause of the junk they build now. Only corvette the was a beast and will always be a beast is the 427 63 to 66 sting rays. Early 90s was fast but not faster then 80s GN.
Whoever wrote the google article should refuse to write sports car articles in the future. To say both of the people driving in this video suck is an understatement. Both cars are mid 10’s in a 1/4
You can tell it was amateur hour..nothing worse than being at the track and the people lining up think the track is just for them and they take all damn day…when you race please pay attention and keep it moving
