What do you think of Costco's pricing for the new roast beef sandwich?

They should test out bringing back the POLISH sausage and the COMBO pizza.

I still deeply miss Costco's smoked turkey sandwiches that were readily available before the Covid emergency. When their food courts reopened the turkey sandwiches - along with the shredded beef brisket ones - were no where to be found!!!

The roast beef sandwich has not reached my Costco yet, but I wouldn't pay that much for it even if they did have it.

I live near the Lynnwood brach; In fact I shop there quite often myself. The new menu item was exciting to see for a min, then the price immediately killed the said excitement. Suprisingly, people seemed to be buying the sandwich quite often, either because of the excitement they don't see the price, or they don't really care that much. I definitely think this is an experimental item, and personally don't think will be normalized

I thought the food was a lost leader to get customers in the door to spend money, like casinos. Expensive sando might not work

As a Culinarian it's not worth $10 it's certainly cold cut roast beef not actual roast beef. So no! It's worth $5 tops

The hot dog, formerly with a Polish sausage option, (my favorite), is the greatest purchase from the food court. Both steamed dog and buns make for savory deliciousness with the personal, preferred condiments... I hope they never remove it. 😋

They had a brisket sandwich here in SC for awhile but that died, don't recall the cost, but it was good. Every fast food joint--which the COSTCO food court is--tries something new from time to time, So what? Let the market decide, this is why they float these ideas from time to time. . ,

Sams picked up the Polish sanwhich, I was happy. I think Costco prices are a lot higher than Sam's. They have only one or two things I like at Costco.

The biggest betrayal by Costco was when they discontinued the gelato. Those were the shiznit.

American Roast Beef Definitely Worth the $9.99 price tag! It's basically a $16 to $20 sandwich, in Seattle prices, for only $9.99 Sometimes you just want something a little hardier and different then just a hot dog or pizza.

I’d buy it to try it! I’m just happy Costco opened a SECOND Des Moines, Iowa Metro location (November 2022)! We have so needed it for years! It hasn’t slowed the traffic of our first Costco, which opened in 2004, much, though!

oh my gosh has anybody been out to a restaurant lately? Even a regular little restaurant nothing fancy everywhere you go to sandwiches and burgers are all about &15-&16 now.

My theory is Costco priced in the scarcity of meat and the dollar devaluation because of the huge incoming beef shortage. Imagine if it was launched at $7 only to be repriced to $10 6 months later.

The selection at the US Costco is not as great as indicated in the video. I didn’t see any salads on Monday and the chicken bake is tiny and expensive!

i think they can do without the roasted cherry tomatoes, and no need for both red onions AND an onion relish, they could cut some of those out and reduce the price. I would take off the tomatoes and the red onions, and instead of the onion relish, just come up with some kind of a chipotle garlic mayo, then just beef, onions, lettuce then the roll

Then why the hell do I pay a membership if they're just going to raise prices, I mean the whole reason of the membership in the first place is to keep the prices low and the pizza at my local Costco really sucks I don't know how they're f****** it up but it used to be really good but now it's just really bad.😤

A similar sandwich in a deli is probably a few dollars more. It is still a bit of a bargain although more than people are used to at the Costco snack bar. If you don’t want it, don’t buy it. That simple.

Does anyone remember the Costco BBQ sandwich from a few years ago? I believe it was $5.99, and it only had a tiny dollop of meat, and a huge dollop of slaw on the bun. I bought it once and was disappointed, I mean I know it's Costco, but still.....

I don't know where you guys live but $10 for a roast beef sandwich is cheap. I live in Florida and Jersey mikes is $15 for a roast beef sandwich.

What were they thinking? Do they think they are jerseys mikes, or subway, or firehouse subs? I haven’t tasted it but if I want a roast beef sandwich I rather go to a sandwich shop. $4 I’ll buy it $5 I’ll buy it if come with cheese $6 maybe I buy if I have a real desire for a roast beef sandwich at the time $7 not likely buying it $8 hell no I’m not buying it.

4:10 - that roast beef looks old, tired and sickly. Is it possible the reason why the roast beef sandwich is there is so people are influenced to make their money go farther by buying more food instead of just one costly sandwich? When you think about how you can get an entire pizza or several hotdogs for the price of a sandwich, it may lead people to buy more than they initially wanted. That’s more sales for Costco.
