Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you've had a lovely weekend. Mum and I had so much fun visiting Haworth again. Please see the description box for the rhubarb fool recipe and all relevant links. Miranda x
Your vlogs are becoming my favourite cosy time listening . The aesthetics , books , mum and of course tea and cake are just delightful. Thank you Miranda and mum for keeping us company and bringing us delights to savour and admire .
I love you so much, Miranda! There's no one like you on RU-vid. You are such an inspiration for reading, cooking, unique lifestyle, just being a better person. I wish I had a friend just like you. Wish you and your lovely mum all the best and lots of health❤
There's something about the ambience and smell of a secondhand book shop that once you have experienced it you never forget! And forever more you just cannot ignore them! You are enticed in ...just like the choclatiers! Afterwards, when you get the books home, just like chocolate you bought you cannot help yourself being like an excited child waiting in anticipation to open them! We certainly enjoyed accompanying you both on the day trip to Haworth! Thanks so much for inviting each one of us along with you We've all had a splendid time!!🤗
@@MirandaMills A friend of mine is a writer, journalist and translator. He has also published a book of recipes based on his travels around the world, with his adventures in the corresponding countries (no photos though).
Yes, please. A photo journey of your part of the world with bookstores cozy shopping and recipes would be wonderful! (and would greatly simplify my Christmas list). Do get to work please 😊
Ahhh my serotonin boost for the next few days. Honestly dear, you do wonders to help me take a moment to lower my blood pressure and remember there’s more to me and I have more interests than the demands of my life. Have a wonderful week xx
Hello Miranda what a coincidence we had a day out Saturday in Haworth, I Am New To Your Channel And Just Love Your Blogs, always Very Informative, I Bought Villette By Charlotte Brontë In The Brontë Shop, We Will Go Have A Look At The Shops Our Next Visit The Book Shop Looks Vey Interesting, Love Your Rhubarb Recipe, Lynn
A bit late watching this magnificent video. Haworth is amazingly beautiful . Love all the vintage books you and Donna bought. You’re videos get better and better every time you air one for us.... Thanks to your videos, I have found the love for reading and writing again. ❤ 😊
I love going along on your trips to beautiful places. Howarth is very pretty. That bookstore was so lovely. But it reminds me that i usually lose my mind when I enter a used bookstore, because I completely forget what authors I'm looking for. Happens every single time. After circling around and around I recover my mind and start looking properly. I also remember I have a little notebook in my purse with my lists. 😂 Love your book finds. Stationary is another thing that sends me. Can't have enough stationary. Thank you Miranda for taking us along. 📚🤗❣️❣️
I always get very over excited in secondhand bookshops too, Diane! Mum and I enjoyed it so much - we could have easily spent another hour in there, and mum apparently had a lovely dream about it that night in which she discovered even more books 😂📚❤️
Miranda I look so forward to your videos each week. This one was so splendid with the quaint village shops. Your adventures are so inspiring that I have become an armchair tourist. Thank you for sharing.
Always wanted to visit Haworth. Jane eyre is my favourite book. Love the new Charlotte bronte book. I really like your dress really pretty. Thank you for this video, it has it all.
Hello Miranda, I so enjoyed the views of the beautifully fronted shops in Haworth and the views inside the book and chocolate shops. How attractive they are! I love rhubarb fool! Our rhubarb emerges in April, and you have set my mouth for some in advance. 😀 Thank you for another enjoyable Sunday morning.
Hello Miranda, thank you for all the lovely recommendations and the delicious recipe. Good to see Haworth again and to see your book finds from your visit. Have a wonderful week, Teresa ♥️
Wonderful video Miranda! Love the 2nd hand bookshop. The Blyth & Grahame books are such treasures! Also love the Bloomsbury-like cushion on your chair ❤️
My dear! You guessed my thoughts…. Early last week I was reading the book”The Life of Charlotte Bronte” of Elizabeth Gaskell and I thought of you…”wow ..she lives in Yorkshire… it would be so good that she would say something about the city of Haworth…and then you made this beautiful surprise….. in the first scene that you Arron the street with rain, she reminded me of a street in Windsor . I don’t believe in coincidences… I think I thought so deeply that it got to you.Thank you very much for this lovely surprise. Last November I was visiting the United Kingdom and also the dear Hartchard bookstore in London. 💐🥰from Brazil 🇧🇷
Hello Miranda! A few vlogs back you recommended A Fine Romance by Susan Branch.. I just received my copy in the mail today and it looks wonderful! Thank you for the great recommendation! I am so glad I recently found your channel! I am really enjoying your lovely videos and you and your mom are so sweet! I have a very hectic life and I look forward to watching your videos as a means of blissful relaxation! Thank you again and I hope you and your mom are having a wonderful week!! 🌸
Thank you for taking us along to Haworth. I'd love to have visited the Cabinet of Curiosities. I have just started reading Wintercombe. My kindle says I'm 6% through, so a long way to go, but so much has happened already.
Another trip And what a trip! The parsonage the Brontes the Brontes books and the books adaptions I don't just love it all I adore it The Cambridge Imprints are magic Aren't they? Another absolute bliss video I loved the book suggestions today! Especially the one about the Bloomsbury period Love it Love it! See you next Thursday Miranda xxx And Donna Always
It’s a chill Sunday night for me and the notification for your video appears. Here for the aesthetically pleasing vibes and of course, the book recommendations 🔥
"Just Yourselfentine" 😂 Love it! I'm excitedly awaiting my copy of The Whispering Muse to arrive soon. Purcell is one of the authors on my automatic pre-order list, I just love a spooky Victorian gothic read. Have a wonderful week, Miranda and Donna!
Haworth is just gorgeous... I miss England so much... weather and all, especially in winter when it's scorching here at the bottom of the world! And oh, that chocolate shop had a whole vegan section!!!! The Church Mouse... wonderful find, adore those books!
Dear Miranda Me again! This is actually for Donna I am a cancer survivor too! Eleven years ago Sadly my late father who died some years before I was diagnosed by "it" didn' survive But I did Well I am writing sg personal too! More like a message too Nothing to fear Hope And go on xxx
I feel so lucky to be able to watch you not once, but twice in a week. Your content is always wonderful. The mix of books old and new, the relationship with your mum, fresh flowers, stationary, baking, beautiful outings in picturesque landscapes, afternoon tea, vintage clothing. I love most of these things. (Jigsaws also work well with these things). A combination of an audio book, beautiful landscape, hot cuppa and a pretty jigsaw is always nice when I can find the time. I can honestly say that when I watch your vlogs, I am forever pausing to follow the links for all your fab book recommendations. Thank you for always taking the time to link everything you discuss. Not all RU-vidrs do. Wishing you much success with your channel this year.
Another lovely video. Loved seeing the beautiful bookshop…I wish that we ones like those around where I live. I also think that the recipe you shared looked delicious…our rhubarb season isn’t until late spring/early summer here so I’ll definitely have to remember the recipe to try at that time.
Dear Miranda, Thank you for this lovely entertaining video. I had a good laugh about "yourselventine"😀 That's exactly what I'm going to have. That bookshop was so stunning, and such lovely books you found there. I am now collecting all your travel tips in a special folder. Also, you always recommend such exceptionally beautiful stationery, thank you so so much! The rhubarb dessert looked devine. Have a lovely week!!!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it, Inga - thank you very much! I think 'yourselfentine' has got to be a celebration 😂 Hope you have a lovely week ahead too! ❤️
Dear Miranda, your vblog was the perfect ending for the weekend! Thank you for sharing so many wonderful suggestions, just perfect and dreamy ❤️it's a pleasure to follow your work, it's my favourite escapism 🥰📚
Miranda, thank you for reminding me about Laura Purcell. I read "The Silent Companions" last year and loved it. I just ordered "The House of Whispers" and I hope it will be as much of a page turner. I love, love, love your green dress!!
Buona giornata!
Hi Miranda…what a delightful vlog. I love second hand bookstores and it is especially enjoyable to find one while traveling. I will be reading The Wind in the Willows for the first time in March along with E.H.Shepard’s autobiography titled Drawn from Memory (a second hand find). Thank you for this Valentine themed vlog💕
I'm so glad you enjoyed it Glenda, thank you! Great idea to read the Shepard autobiography alongside The Wind in the Willows - I so enjoyed the Slightly Foxed editions of his memoirs! xxx
Every video is so lovely and pleasant to watch. Such a pleasure to spend some time seeing your adventures, your sweet mom, your cooking and the books you enjoy! Thank you so much!!
I spent a little money when watching you this evening, Miranda! Found online a used copy of My Dearest Mouse so grabbed it straightaway! Also bought a pack of cards from Vanessa Bowman - they're all so lovely. Can I add that my copy of The Bronte Yearbook has the same coloured cover on the front as on the back. As yours was blue on the front, do you think it might have changed to blue if it was displayed in a shop window and the sunlight got to it? I've seen books go that way before in shop windows. Or maybe yours is just different from mine. Lovely to see you again.
Lovely purchases! I think mine is just different: the palette is purples and blues. It's hard to tell though. Anyway, both very pretty so I'm not complaining! 📚💕 (Note: I've just gone and looked at it again, and I think the front is faded! I rather like the effect though!)
Hi Miranda, I thoroughly enjoyed your wonderful vlog. I loved your trip to Haworth. I remember going their with my parents when I was a teenager & also went with my Husband for one of our anniversaries. The secondhand bookshop you went to looked lovely, I especially liked your Bronte Yearbook & your Anne Bronte poster. Thanks again for sharing your journey with us. Xxx
I am a big Bronte fan! Wuthering Heights is my 2nd all time favorite book. First being Little Women by L.M. Alcott. I collect copies of W. H. I have a beautiful pictorial book of Howarth, their home (parsonage), and surrounding ding countryside. I'm sure you know they were originally from Ireland. There is a book out about that, that I really want to get! Great video as usual, thanks!
This was delightful viewing for my Sunday evening, so much better than the tv! Haworth village is pretty and fascinating, and I'd be tempted in by the chocolatiers, the curiosities shop and of course the second-hand bookshop - what a treat that was for you and Donna. My mouth is watering at the thought of the rhubarb fool, it looks delicious.
Hi Miranda, what a delightful vlog, just ordered Reunion and can’t wait to read it. Loved every second of the video, Haworth is such a lovely place and that secondhand bookstore…. Dreamy!! Thank you so very much for this Sunday afternoon escape.❤❤❤
Your videos makes me calm and think a lot for my RU-vid channel. Such a lovely visit to these beautiful county and streets, you always made me insisting to move to live in UK. For the arts cards, I will choose frames and put them on the walls in my kitchen or my bedroom, they will give the feeling of cottage core vibes. I watch you on a daily basis.
Your videos are like a warm hug, cosy and gentle, a pure delight. I might just have to,find a copy of that Jane Austen book as it is my favourite book ever. Love to you both
Reunion sounds great. Medusa is a great book. Jessie is such a wonderful writer. I need to get to more Purcell. I think I started with the wrong book of hers, Bone China. I love Haworth. Stayed there with friends for a long weekend (actually over a decade) and had the best time. Need to do it again. That bookshop looked amazing. Oooh and a rhubarb fool, rhubarb is one of my favourite flavours. And scents actually. Lovely video as always.
I highly recommend Reunion, Simon! It's an amazing read. 'The Corset' is my favourite Purcell - would recommend starting with that one or 'The Silent Companions.' I'm very excited by all the early forced rhubarb! Can't wait to use it in more recipes!! Have a lovely start to the week xxx
I look so forward to your vlogs and book discussion. I am new as of this week to your vlogs but have watched some past ones and totally am entranced. So glad I have found you and your Mom. Thank you🤗
Oh, I love the Church Mice books! They made me laugh so much as a child. I've been trying to tack down a lot of my favorite childhood picture books that I used to get from our library growing up, and was happy to find the first one in that series recently! This was such a lovely cozy video, thank you!
Hi Miranda, I love your videos, they always comfort and inspire me to read more! I was wondering if you have the time at some point, to make a video on children's books you love, specifically picture books or for under 6 year olds... Thanks again and have a lovely week!
Everything so lovely as always. So enjoyed seeing your Haworth visit, especially that wonderful bookshop - so many amazing titles of all kinds, definitely the bookshop of dreams! The rhubarb fool must be one of the prettiest desserts I’ve seen. Wonderful gift ideas (I think I want them all for myself!) and love the book recommendations - you have made me want to rush straight out to find a copy of Reunion! I wondered where your beautiful table runner is from, the one in your kitchen with the birds on it? It’s absolutely gorgeous!
Another bright and hopeful video! I loved the table runner you had on your kitchen table with the beautiful tulips. Can you tell me who makes it? Watching your videos can be such a visual delight!
What a marvellous vlog! I loved all the different parts of it but my favourite one was your trip with your mum to the Brontë's village, simply adorable. My favourite combination: church & vintage bookshop &cosy tea shop. I wish I had gone with you!! The perfect company!!
Another wonderful vlog Miranda, thank you for sharing your trip to Haworth, it is bringing back some great memories of my visits there many years ago (how little it has changed - and it always seems to be raining!). What a wonderful find of the Ronald Blythe book, definitely one I will be keeping an eye out for!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it, Jennifer! Thank you! Yes, we always seem to miss the sunshine in Haworth 😂 It must be that brooding Brontë reputation it has to keep up! Xxx
Thank you for showing us all the books you purchased in Haworth! I live in Canada so went to the Haworth Parsonage Museum website and ordered the lovely book you got there on sale (and yes, it was on sale online too!). I also added the museum’s souvenir guide to my order. Can’t wait to receive them in the post!
Another wonderful video - what a fabulous look around Haworth too! I really enjoy your recipes - you make your meals so very civilised! I really look forward to all of your videos. Have a lovely week x
Thank you, Miranda, for another lovely vlog! Laundry is beautifully folded 😜, and I am completely relaxed! When I moved to Maine from California a few years ago a friend of mine gave me a rhubarb plant and every year I admire its stems....and that is it! Thanks to you this will be the year I might actually do something with them! I might take the first part of your recipe and add it to my cheesecake instead of the lemon that I usually use, although yours looked mouth-watering. (I wonder what rhubarb cheesecake would taste like?). Love your book and card selections and now desperately wish my Mom and I had stopped at that Hatchard & Daughters bookshop during our trip last Autumn! Next time! Happy Sunday🌷
I’m sure your rhubarb cheesecake will be delicious! I’ll probably also be sharing another rhubarb recipe soon 😉 Hope you get back to Haworth another time soon! Xxx
Dearest Miranda, What a charming visit to Haworth. As an avid Brontë fan myself, it is to easy to picture the sisters making do with rain and trekking over the moors. The village looks really special and your video diary of such and the parsonage (filmed previously) will serve as armchair travel. I would love to go one day! I love how your mum mentioned the second hand book shop was like something out of her dreams! Can there be any greater heaven? What a lovely find! I was so intrigued to hear your thoughts on “Reunion” and I’m delighted to hear it’s one not to miss. I think I’ll be purchasing it for my father also, incredibly early Father’s Day gifting. As with your delightful recipes, Valentine’s gift guide, I am left feeling cozy and happy! Thank you for sharing your beautiful adventures with us! ❤️
Thank you so much for this lovely comment, Antoniette! So glad you enjoyed this video and glimpse of Haworth. Hope you like Reunion as much as I did! Have a lovely start to the week xxx
Thanks so much for the special offer on Serious Reader lights. I ordered a light to be shipped to Australia making free shipping most appreciated. Always inspired by your exceptional videos.
I really enjoyed this. Having visited Haworth I can agree - such an interesting place. I loved the Cabinet Of Curiosities. b I shall definitely make the rhubarb dessert!
I am so thrilled to see two videos a week! What a treat! Whenever you show holiday gift ideas or book recommendations I can't resist ordering something. I adore your taste in tea, desserts, books...just everything. Thank you for brightening my week!
Hello Miranda tf bring us along your trip to Haworth what a perfect day to browse books and enjoy cup of tea that cake looked delicious 😋 . .I love the children's illustration books you select (my weakness) those folded out cards were gorgeous my favorite was the floral heart shape one tfs have a wonderful week ahead take care ❤️ 🙋♀️
Even with the rainy weather, Haworth is charming and cozy. Makes you want to stay longer in that wonderful bookstore and Cafe. 😀 That rhubarb desert looks amazing! I might give it a go once I can find rhubarb here. I have to say though that I'm not much of a desert maker; I baked a cake a couple of weeks ago and it completely broke apart while I tried frosting it. Looked disastrous!!! But it got eaten by my family nevertheless lol Thank you again for such a lovely vlog! Have a great week!
