Easy Sourdough Start to Finish! www.aldermanfar...
Passed by Frogmore Plantation (www.frogmorepla...) and what appeared to be miles and miles of cotton. It was a sight to behold, and I decided to stop and take a closer look.

A valuable resource for sure. Just think of all the clothing that is bought from overseas when we have this sustainable resource in our own backyard. Thanks for sharing and God bless

Thanks for the video. Might be a good prep if you had the room. Spin into thread and keeps for years.

hurdman yeah, that's what I'm wanting to look into. but see, you mention "room," which is one of the many things I just don't know at this point: how much room do I need? I have no idea how many plants I need in order to make it worth our while, you know?

When I was a kid I saw this same thing and thought it was snow laying in a field. As an adult, I saw it again. I still say it looks like snow laying in a field!

Where I live in Texas there is a lot of cotton. I don't know if you knew but 95% of all cotton grown is GMO. It would be neat if you could grow some heirloom cotton. I bought some heirloom seed and I keep meaning to plant it. I heard someone say that everyone should plant cotton once so you appreciate what people went through growing and harvesting it.

texgardener1 I didn't know that, but I'm not surprised. I was going to ask where to get heirloom, but looks like ***** already provided a link!

okay I hate to bring up the GMO thing but there are spinners out there that would make a good market for organic cotton - that group that is "getting back to basics" is expanding with the preppers and the wool spinners are always looking for new fibers

jmarylastone yeah, I'm not sure we could grow enough to sell, but definitely interested in growing enough to have enough to spin for ourselves!
