@@josephtalmadge3108idk if Colin is underrated. He had a lot of haters 20 years ago because he was a “pretty boy” but today pretty much everyone acknowledges he’s a great actor.

That show flamed out so hard. It started great tho.

Came here for this. I went into Gotham bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, but by the end of S1 it felt like a show about Barbara more than anybody else. And the way they kept shoehorning her in season after season...Selina and Ivy were weird, but at least they rotated them in and out of the limelight as needed. The weird Penguin/Riddler dynamic also threw me. Were they dating or hating each other, I could never tell from episode to episode. I wish they'd kept it about Gordan and the police force, dealing with the villains without Batman (or with minimal help from Batman). Then again, I also felt Hannibal went off a steep cliff after the first season so I may just be biased against retellings. Still, fingers crossed for this one. It looks like it'd fit in at home in the Punisher/Daredevil universe, and I enjoyed both of those.

Yeah the first season was actually surprisingly good

@@JohnFisherChoir oh boy that's already not good. Obviously Batman shouldn't be the focus of this show but he can't not be around. I'm not saying feature him every episode but just do it like the comics but in reverse. Make the Penguin the main focus and his mob life and dealings but also make sure Batman makes his appearance every now and then. It just wouldn't make sense to star a character from Batman...without featuring Batman. I really hope this show turns out super awesome. The Sopranos (without the goofiness) mashed up with Batman sounds really fun.

@@LovesandCuddles I think it was be very good. I think it might diminish the star power of the Batman if they put him in the show, they probably want to save him for the movies only. It looks like the main focus will be the rise of the Penguin, so could like Sopranos and not have much super hero elements

@@JohnFisherChoir I can agree to that. I think the focus on a serious mobster Penguin is fantastic. I hyped up. I just don't want this show turning into the typical early to mid 2000s superhero CW show. Where the hero shows but its like super watered down, not Hollywood quality. If Batman doesn't show then cool but if he is set to make some appearances then they HAVE to treat it like Superbowl Sunday or Wrestlemania. When he appears its gotta thunderous. Action scenes and dialogue right from the movies as far as quality, but the moment his time up, it goes right back to Penguin. Idk I think this show could be the right mix of mafia/superhero. Something that gives off a very real mix of the more serious mafia movies of the past with a non-campy, no sugar superhero mix in. A modern noir story based on the mafia, specifically Penguin and his dealings with just a few sprinkles of Batman every now and then to remind the viewer that it maybe Penguins show but Batman is still around and he can strike whenever. I just don't want this to turn into a unremarkable teaser. Remember that show Birds of Prey? I just don't want it to look like the typical CW show, where they tease what the fans want but don't deliver, or they actually do deliver but it's just not good. Like that show Gotham and the very last scene when they show their version of Batman for a few seconds and it was horrendous.

@@LovesandCuddles I think it’ll be nothing like the other superhero shows out there, its an HBO show so probably same quality and seriousness as Sopranos, the last of us etc

I love batman so I will check it out even if batman isn't in it. However the Joker is my favorite villain
