Apologies on the re-post on this video. For some reason, the render malfunctioned and cut off prior to the actual end of the video and I missed it.

Any idea what would be the amp rating at 4ohms? Is it rated?
@audioexperience
@audioexperience Месяц назад
would love to know the answer myself - Bluesound does not rate it for anything other than 8

This amp costs more than an 7.2 AVR. Is it because of the power wattage?
@audioexperience
@audioexperience 7 месяцев назад
an AVR under a grand is going to be a consumer level budget device simply because of how many things it has to do to fit that price point. more power does not always equal more expensive, nor does it necessarily equate to higher performance, that's for sure.

I still don't understand, what's that ethernet port for?
@audioexperience
@audioexperience Год назад
the ethernet port is to connect the powernode to the internet so that you can access all streaming capabilities, update, etc. - it's the recommended means of connectivity instead of just using the wifi connection as it's faster and more stable.

What is a good matching speaker for the powernode?
@audioexperience
@audioexperience Год назад
in my opinion to make a recommendation, there should be a bit more information required about the application. budget, room size, listening level, placement constraints all come into play. i would be happy to recommend something for you if you could provide a bit more info. i could just recommend something but it wouldn't be the best recommendation for you unless i gather the other bits of information. please feel free to call or email to get in touch - info is in the description.

@@audioexperience Im looking for a bookshelf speaker to be placed close to the wall. Also do double duty as tv speaker via hdmi arc so dialogue clarity is also important. Price range up to 1k-1.3k. Room is quite big, maybe around 50m2 but the seating position is within 3m. Adding a sub at a later date is also an option.
@audioexperience
@audioexperience Год назад
@@sapkan7879 considering your need to place speakers so close to the wall and your budget, your options are few for optimal sound. the reason is that most speakers in that price point are bass reflex rear ported. those kinds of speakers aren't best when placed up against / close to a rear wall. so, i'd suggest going with a model designed for placement close to a wall. the best option is beyond your budget but i'd figure it's worth mentioning as a buy once cry once choice: shopaudioexperience.com/dali-opticon-lcr-mk2-on-wall-speaker/ so considering your budget requirements this is my choice: shopaudioexperience.com/dali-oberon-on-wall-wall-mountable-speaker/

@@audioexperience thank you for the recommendation. I am a bit reserved when in comes to on-wall speakers. I admit I haven’t listened to any but I imagine they would sound anaemic due to their small internal volume. I have no experience with Dali but I know they are highly regarded in amongst audiophiles. Wouldn’t a front ported speaker work in my situation, something like the Sonus Faber Lumina 2?
@audioexperience
@audioexperience Год назад
@@sapkan7879 you're welcome! i will say that for your application needing to place them up against a back wall, on walls will be better than rear ported. regarding the front ported options, yes those would work just as well as sealed options. currently i'm not a sonus faber dealer, so i can't say much about those in particular.

If you are talking about the newest version it is named POWERNODE. It is important get it correctly so we know which version you mean. The same applies to the newest Bluesound Node which is named NODE. This avoids confusion to write it correctly.
@audioexperience
@audioexperience Год назад
hi kevin, yes i am discussing the newest version and i did post it correctly in the title of the video. prior versions are: POWERNODE 2i (with HDMI) POWERNODE 2i POWERNODE 2 POWERNODE (N150) thanks for watching

I think their $300 version is a better value than this unit is at close to $1K.
@audioexperience
@audioexperience Год назад
you may be thinking of the powernode edge which is actually 649 bluesound does not offer any streaming integrated amplifier for 300
@fonkenful
@fonkenful Год назад
Anyone think the new WIIM Pro’s form factor could confuse some folks for whom more than 20 syllables is TLDR? At $200 US, IINM that’s an interesting option for a streamer / smart home hub, but amplification would still be required. I’ve been running a Node along with a previously existing power amp for over a year now and am very happy with it.
@audioexperience
@audioexperience Год назад
@@fonkenful lol yeah it's definitely a great thing to have something as inexpensive as that is for those that either do not wish to spend more or cannot afford more to have access to streaming
@kevincorr2985
@kevincorr2985 Год назад
@@fonkenful Except that with the WiiM you need a separate good dac. The WiiM dac is not in the same league. So add that cost and cables and you have spent the same.
@fonkenful

@@kevincorr2985 Most assuredly, my suggestion was for those with severe budgetary restrictions.
