Love how he made that horse whinney sound 8:10 . Morin Khuur (Mongolian: "морин хуур") - the national instrument of Mongolia. It is a typical Mongolian two-stringed instrument. The body and the neck are carved from wood. The end of the neck has the form of a horse-head and the sound is similar to that of a violin or a cello. The strings are made of dried deer or mountain sheep sinews. It is played with a bow made of willow, stringed with horsetail hair and coated with larch or cedar wood resin.
The instrument is called Morin Khuur the "Horse-head fiddle". Even the authentic version of the instrument has carved horse head on the top but it usually has just wooden texture as a whole. And the 2 strings are made out of horse's hair thats why it is a horsehead fiddle in the first place. Must see Twelve o Six band powerful and energy morin khuur
check out the performance in the following video (esp at around 2 min mark). one will understand more about the unique culture of the Mongols from this video - they get their energy, wisdom and inspiration from the nature. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9O1cVTpne0A.html BTW this piece was composed by the Morin Khuur maestro Chi Bulag from Inner Mongolia.
i'm pretty sure it's called a horse head fiddle just because it's got a carved horse head on it. lol Pretty much all bowed instruments are played with Horse haired bows. :) At least they were, these days I wouldn't be surprised if they had started making synthetic bows. :)
I’m 57, I’ve been throat singing since I was a kid, just didn’t know that it was Mongolian Throat singing 😆. I heard an Australian instrument called a “Digerydoo” and kept trying to mimic it with my voice. So I’ve been kinda throat singing for years, then I ran across the Hu (Wolf Totem) and was like “Wait, I can do that, It’s Mongolian? It’s Throat singing?”
It's not just language to learn, but also khoomei/throat singing to be able to sing along. And I am telling you, as a Mongol, I can't even do that it's so difficult.
They are just that awesome. I keep saying they are the coolest awesomest band on the planet and if you every have the chance to catch them live take it they keep getting better over time too.
I just finished watching your reaction to this song. I couldn’t help but feel your soul come out during the song. Great to watch. This is the best reaction I have seen. Thank you. From Aotearoa/New Zealand.
I'm a Mongolian. You think of the thousands of Mongolian cavalry, who were facing foreign countries together in homai, never heard such a sound. All of them were scared and ran around. Soldiers in armor fell off their horses, shaking with fear. At this time, the Mongolian cavalry, singing songs and shouting slogans, rushed over, waving extremely sharp Mongolian swords, and every enemy was afraid. Every Mongolian soldier grew up eating beef and mutton. Although he is not tall, he has great strength,,,,,,💕 Би Монгол хүн.
i checked all the reactions for the HU Band, and you are the one who gives the most fun, interesting and energetic reaction also which makes the video better...
You can substitute your regular 20 minute cardio session with this song and still get the same burn... The best part is you’re grinning all the time you’re doing it!!
Before that, I would like to strongly recommend this piece of music to you. I didn't expect to hear it! That is great! We Mongols conquered most of the earth in those years. We are proud of it, and even more proud of our leader Genghis Khan! I believe that Mongolia will rise again! ♥❤💪
First time I've seen you, but this is exactly how excited I was when I found this song after Wolf Totem. Your sheer joy and enjoyment of this is so freaking great!!!
Absolutely and they were going to do it in the fashion of Genghis Khan under him and the Mongolian Warriors Concord the largest Empire in the history of the world from the back of a horse
You expressed EXACTLY what I felt when I first heard this song, the very first approach to that band which led me to search for more. I´m a huge fan now, they´re everything that´s good on Earth XD Thank you so much for sharing your reaction, it´s priceless.
This is a hell of a band... I'm so very happy that Asia is being highlighted this much... I am so very familiar and fan of Asian Rock or Metal since I was 16 years old, and I regretted that the US didn't have any interest of music around the world... This area of the world has always been a great place to hear very good music... You make me happy you know... God bless you... And stay safe... Much love from your metal head lady from France... 💋 💋 💋 💋 💋 🌺 🌸 🌺 🌸 🌺
I agree and disagree in the same time. They used to be... original, great etc... but since they started "FEATURING" with those "amazing" american musicians they lost it, completely lost their own feeling.
The lyrics are actually a wake-up call to the younger generation, to honour the wisdom and courage of their ancestors, and not remain soft and lazy. That's why the opening with the guys sleeping in, stuffing their faces and watching telly makes sense. It's a battle song, yes, but the battle is with our inner selves. It's such a catchy tune that it can set up shop in my head for days at a time. And the little horse neigh flourish on the horsehead fiddle always makes me smile! I loved your reaction! I totally lost it when your hat fell off while headbanging! That song always gets me moving, too! 😂
If you get the chance to see them live take it as they are absolutely amazing. They don’t speak much English but they keep the crowd engaged the whole time
I am Mongolian and also your channel followers, I love your channel most! Must see every issue! Before that, I would like to strongly recommend this piece of music to you. I didn't expect to hear it! That is great! We Mongols conquered most of the earth in those years. We are proud of it, and even more proud of our leader Genghis Khan! I believe that Mongolia will rise again!
"This is a battle song" I'd say Wolf Totem fits that descriptor more than this one, given that that song seems to be an actual war chant. This song is their way of saying "Our traditions are being laid to waste and our ancient ancestors (and The Great Djengis Khan in particular) forgotten. The [Mongolian] people need to wake up and honor those who shaped this land we are so blessed to live in." And I find that a very powerful and great message, which may be a reason why I appreciate this band so much, and had the fortune to see live shortly before the beervirus messed things up.
Brother, you could video reacting to eggs being fried and would watch it!! Love your videos!!! Thanks for making me/us smile. Btw The HU are awesome and their music is fantastic. Again thanks for your videos, stay safe everyone.
I really, really needed a happy distraction at this moment. Glad this popped up! I 💜 these guys. The wild was clearly calling them in the beginning. _The Call of the Wild..._ say, that sounds like a great book title. I'll have to get right on that... Bloodywood _Machi Bhasad (Expect a Riot)_ next! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Gsy5sJy5_34.html
The Hu have just done an awesome concert for Aid for Mongolia, so if you missed them live, check it out. Mr RocknRoll, I love the Hu, and your reax are the best
Great mix of traditional instruments and vocal style with Rock. Love it. The most ingenious is at 8:09 (4m 48s in orig. MV) when he imitates the neighing of a horse with his instrument. Next one: Shoog Shoog (Official lyric video) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dwr4SPK1_TY.html A simple but awesome groove combined with bad ass vocals. Rock on!
What a great and different way of making rock!. Is incredible! Absolutely brilliant. Great reaction again man. Plase don't forget the Babymetal. We are thousands who always wait for your reactions. Tomorrow is Moa's birthday 😍. It would be great if you react to Love Machine Moa metal alone. 🤟🏻 🦊
As a Mongolian Yuve Yuve Yu Meaning can be interpreted as “how strange” but “yuve” meaning is “what’s that” or as “what” so it’s meaning in raw form is “what’s that?”
The HU are awesome. I found them after a recommended video popped up of them performing Yuve Yuve Yu on Loudwire, and I had to know who they were. I'd like to see your reaction to The New Order, The Pale King or Children of the Next Level by Testament. I have a feeling you'll like them 🤘🏻
First time viewer. Because of The HU you popped up in my suggested list. I love you, man! :D Great reaction video. Don't know if you are a Star Wars Fan but their 'Sugaan Essena' is featured in the game. They have to hire them to do an entire soundtrack. Check it out.
Suggestions for something more light-hearted. Please don't take these too seriously ;) but the music is great and you will be smiling, guaranteed! Eskimo Callboy - Hypa Hypa Windrose: Diggy Diggy Hole Gloryhammer: Hootsforce
I found you through Sabaton and i really like youre reactions. Its fun to see you truly enjoying the music. Have you ever reacted to Bloodywood? They make Indian street metal. Greetings from Germany
