Yeah, we are too familiar with the "Queen of Mean" on "The Weakest Link", so when she hosting this show and being friendlier than that, I'm really surprised!
I never understood the attraction to mean hosts of game shows; until my friend reminded me, that stupid people LOVE to watch smarter people being made fun of. That explains it all.
She's a step slower than her weakest link days and started a little stiff but seemed like she loosened after a few and in time she'll develop the comraderie with Susie and Rachel.
Because Anne has left now, she is the host who lasted the shortest amount of time in the history of Countdown. So does that make her The Weakest Link? 😀
I felt like her dentures were just too big. I live in the US and I had a neighbor who sounded like that when he went to Mexico to get discount dentures.
Wow this is a surprise, Anne though is a perfect choice as a journalist seems to do a good job. As for Rachel it's always difficult for a young and emerging personality to work with a veteran in the business, always wanting to be a diva. I think Carol would have been a much better co-host if she were to ever return.
Normal countdown is generally less lighthearted than 8 Out Of 10 Cats' version; the choice of contestants for sure affects the dynamics and interactions Then again I also have my fun by challenging myself by playing along so it's not that unenjoyable personally
