Hi MH. 'Breakable' is such an incredible song. Courtney's vocals are beyond spectacular and no one can sing with the rawness and passion that Courtney can. If you can't feel this song so deep in your heart and soul, then you don't have a pulse. Plus the lyrics are just profound in so many places. They are words of wisdom that should be stamped in everyone's mind forever. Think about some of them. You mention 'I'm strong enough to tell you I'm feeling weak', but there are others. What about 'I don't want to love you just to lose myself again' or 'Before you and I turn into us'. This song is simply brilliant. Some of the most memorable lines I've ever heard in any song, ever. These are lines that people should still remember and be repeating 50 years from now. Wow!
You were 💯 spot on . This and the 2nd video is/was about the record companies doing her wrong. ( pushing her back for their other artists to shine) aka the “truck scene”. We’re with COURTNEY all the way! COURTERIZED ❤
Thank you for common sense regarding people’s perception of music, you are quite right, I think Courtney was saying I am here and I don’t need the label to rule my life. For me Courtney is the voice of a lifetime, the world has waited decades for her amazing talent.
Courtney is doing what she enjoys by leaving her audition mode. That girl don't live here anymore is a statement. Her wardrobe says it to. She says I know you loved her and I did to but she doesn't live here anymore. Well put!! Courtney is the greatest.❤
9136 Another great reaction Hatter! This is such a beautiful, emotional song. It is sad and heavy but ends with a note of hope and determination. This was written by Courtney along with veteran songwriter/producer Kevin Bowe. This song and “That Girl” show the scope of Courtney’s songwriting. We have seen many snippets of other original songs from Courtney and they are all amazing and all quite different. From what we’ve seen so far Courtney and Kevin make quite a team. I would definitely give this the full 5 🎩’s!
9136. Great reaction to a great performer and song. One tiny, tiny detail: I think the correct lyric line is "it takes too long to 'heal'" (not 'leave').
She is telling a story in her last 2 releases. Not hard to figure out what she is singing about without stirring the pot. Great reaction and opinions. Courtney your terriffic.❤
Great to see you doing Breakable too. I'm sure I was as surprised as you were when she commented on the That Girl Don't Live Here reaction. I've watched countless reactions to Courtney videos and never saw her comment on one before, so congratulations!🥳🎉🎉🥳🥳🎉🎉🥳🎉🎉🥳🥳🎉🎉 To me, the major thing about whether these songs are really about romantic relationships or, as most commenters emphasize, her relationship with the recording industry, is how resolute she's always been about not airing her dirty linen in public. As far as I know, the last time Courtney spoke about signing with a label was late in 2021. Many fans reasonably deduced it was Maple House Records, but to this day I haven't heard nor read of her naming the label or making any statements about the deal falling through.
Several contributors have talked about the incredible lyrics in this song. I like to call them Courtneyism's because there's no doubt in my mind that they're almost all attributed to her ! Another one is " hurting's how you learn what it feels like getting burnt". That one's my absolute favorite ! Courtney and Kevin do make an incredible team and I can't wait for more music to come!
The lyrics I like are these... Who's ever been forever in a place they can't escape Hoping there are better days to come This lyric really sums up her whole message for me. It could be to do with a bad relationship, an uneven marriage, someone who is actually imprisoned, COVID or other illnesses or it could be to do with the record label she was dealing with, who were trying to change her. The message is just so universal.
9136 - This song is such an emotional masterpiece. From my first encounter with this song a couple of months ago, it has been almost constantly cycling through my brain. This song, while she wrote it about her struggles to progress her career, with the record labels trying to mould her into something that she is not, and other struggles such as COVID, the message conveyed is so universal that anyone can take from it whatever they are dealing with. That is genius writing. Thank you for reacting to this masterpiece. 5 out of 5, 10 out of 10, 100 out of 100. I give it a maximum score.
I've seen many reactions, but I think you're the first person to speak about the "sorrow" in her voice. That's exactly right. It's not just pain or being hurt. It's about feeling "fallen." The lines that strike me are "before you and me turn into us" and "is this thing as heavy as it feels?" It's not a breakup song. It's a pause. This girl is confronting the reality of true love and it's hitting her hard. "If we're going to do this, let's do it right. Let's take this moment and pause. It might take forever or as long as it takes. If this is real, you'll wait for me to be ready." I don't think it's about the industry or her career. That's probably a legitimate secondary meaning. I just think she's in love with someone and it's blindsided her. She's only 18 years old but she's a grown up now. That's for sure. Hatter, your reaction gets the full five hats just as much as Courtney's song!
@@rickrhoden1 Right. A lot of potentially deep personal things happening alongside her struggle to remain true to herself in the face of music industry forces trying to get her to sell out through pop styles and over-sexualization.
@@Shir_Hadash What I love about Courtney is that she doesn't have to be sexualized to be special. She looks great as she is, in the suits. She doesn't need to show skin, she lets her talent shine. She doesn't need to flaunt it, her talent is supreme.
@@darrenbent7601 She's beautiful and she communicates sexual values, it's just not salacious. She's not selling herself out, her music out, and she doesn't cheapen herself.
Great interpretation/response to Courtney's first release. You continue to be one of CH's top 5 reactors for me. Too bad you made yourself very scarce, hope you're doing well. Best regards and most of all good health from Germany
9156 This is definitely five hats when a young artist can lay it all on the line and create a masterpiece like this. the Cinematography on this is tremendous, especially the color combinations at the end of the video. It is almost as impressive as her powerful singing. This song could be depressing but it is too high quality to leave you in the dumps.
I had to go back and check the comment she left❕❗I have alwats wanted to cover this song since it came out but don't have proper recording equipment❕❗(9136)
Great analysis/reaction! But I would like to go back to Howie's statement at Courtney's first appearance on AGT: Courtney comes from another time - this is wrong and also true: What is true is that she is able to breathe new "life" into the songs in her own style. Wrong: Courtney is influenced by many living and deceased artists and has developed her own modern style from this, which I think may be/will be trend-setting one day. In my opinion, you're one of Courtney's top 5 Reactors for having a sound musical understanding, good observational skills, and a good appreciation of her lyrics (why, with so much expertise, do you have so few subscribers?). All the best and greetings from Germany. ps Lucky you finally put that ugly top hat aside!
