Thank you for this! I ❤❤❤❤❤❤ this video! It's so exciting to see Courtney's first official original release and first concept video getting the love it deserves!
It's a great song and really done exceptional well all around. She co-wrote this song with Kevin Bowe who has worked with and produced many greats including Eta James Little Steven Van Zandt, Lynyrd Skynyrd and many more, really thinks she's going to make a huge statement moving forward. He said " Listen up, Courtney Hadwin is just getting started."
Hi. Great reaction. Like the way you always keep it real. What an amazing debut for Courtney. This is both her first release of an original and as an independent artist, and it is sensational. The vocals are simply other worldly in how good they are and the lyrics/video hit you emotionally like a sledgehammer. No one can touch your soul like Courtney can when she sings. There are very few people that haven't been burned by someone or something in their life and every one of those people are going to be able to relate to this song in an extremely personal way. Everyone's going to feel as is Courtney's having a one on one conversation with their heart. Much of what Courtney is singing about in this song is the difficulty she's had in getting her music released. She wrote about it in her New Year's post this last January. She was originally signed by Simon Cowell's Syco Music, but then Simon decided to sell the music side of his holdings. Then Covid hit and between lock downs and travel bans, her debut original album release was repeatedly delayed for over two years. Finally, Courtney decided to do it on her own. If there's one thing to know about Courtney, it's that when she sets her mind to something, it's going to get done. In less than 2 months, she got done, on her own, what the labels couldn't accomplish in years. Courtney has the most incredible and versatile voice that we've heard in forever, but she brings so much more to the table in her determination, focus, drive and creativity. Now that Courtney has taken over total control of her own music, we should hear a series of originals coming out over the next months. What a breath of fresh air it will be for the music world. I literally can't get this song out of my head. Everybody needs to hear this song, because it is simply breathtaking. Truly a spectacular start for a spectacular artist.
This is the first Courtney song I've heard in 2 years; She hasn't lost a beat. Love it. I just hope she has a whole album this is just a small sample of.
Courtney said there's definitely an album in the very near future but I think at least one more single will come out first. She already named the song, "That Girl Doesn't Live Here Anymore" was the title if I remember correctly.
I love the video. It has a real Texas/Arizona/Rout 66/Country feel about it, just like the song itself. If you've seen the lyrics video, you can get the depth behind each word, and you can interoperate the song as to what meaning you want. There is a lot of symbolism too, in the official video. One that I can pick up on is the "boyfriend" at the start, being an old biker. I think that he was meant to represent Simon Cowell, and the record label that he represented. Do you remember his bike accident a while ago which broke his back, and took him out of the public eye for a number of months? He was to represent her break from the label, and becoming an independent artist.
I believe she was also speaking of her music career here I think you feel like the people she was so situated with let her down that was what led to the contract dispute and all the time she did not put out any music but thanks for the reaction
Shes was talking about the music industry relationship., but like every song she does, it has meaning in each person own way for everyone that listen to this
Listening to Breakable makes me feel like I'm the one who hurt Courtney, that she's singing to me, saying she doesn't know that she wants to give it another go if it's going to hurt like it did before. I feel like she knows the situation got so big so fast and that I didn't intend to hurt her. We were cut off and unable to communicate and the world fell in on us. She can make up her own mind, but I've made up mine. I love her and I'm committed to her. I want "better days to come," but I'm prepared to love her even if she doesn't love me. I'm not moving on from her. She's too important to me. If I have to suffer another year, ten or a thousand, that's just how it's going to be. I've given myself to her and she can throw me away if she wants, but I'm never turning back from my voice. She's broken me and if it means being without her, I have no intention of healing.
Per comments by Courtney the video was made in Malaga Spain near the Mediterranean Sea ) The one scene showing route 66 signs ( a well known cross country route in the US ) and the Harley Davidson motor bike ( likely a customized 2013ish Softail Slim or maybe Fatboy) were props.
Maybe there's a "Route 66 Cafe" somewhere in Spain? The "Hawaiian Karioki Bar" she was recorded singing Proud Mary and Remember Us This Way at is in Turkey🤣
All to often these days people ignore intent. Constantly being attacked for words other people take out of context and demonize is wrong on every level. Where does that end? Freedom of speech is vitally important. 2:45
