This song is the apotheosis of industrial dance music. Simultaneously haunting and propulsive, it's epic in a way that few other songs in the genre manage to be. Eight years later and it still amazes me. (Nice video here, too.)
This song gets in my head , stuns me and sends chills down my spine. It is so amazing, it is possibly is one of my favorite songs ever . It is the perfect example of music I love. Then there is stalker which does the same ....speechless.
Listen to this song, close your eyes and tell me you dont realize just how short life is and how wonderful some peoples gifts truly are to grace us with the gift of their voice....so thought provoking
a billion words ago the sailors disappeared, a story for the children to rock them back to sleep, a million burning books like torches in our hands, a fabric of ideals to decorate our homes, a thousand generations the soil on which we walk, a mountain of mistakes for us to climb for pleasure, a hundred clocks are ticking the line becomes a circle, spin the wheel of fortune or learn to navigate. a choir full of longing will call our ships to port the countless lonely voices like whispers in the dark a second of reflection can take you to the moon, the slightest hesitation can bring you down in flames, a single spark of passion can change a man forever, a moment in a lifetime is all it takes to break him, a fraction of a heartbeat made us what we are, a brother and a sister for better or for worse, a billion words ago they sang a song of leaving, an echo from the chorus will call them back again. a choir full of longing… tonight we light the fires we call our ships to port tonight we walk on water and tomorrow we'll be gone
At this very moment this song is one of my favourits. If not THE favourite of them all. I mean, really, this song just makes you go up and down. It's amazing.
Got into "Covenant" and heard of their music only 10 years ago(2001)and this is the first ever official music video I've seen from them(yes even right here on YT).No more music video tv shows here in southern Ca,US(all gone during the '90s)and U know Mtv America won't play stuff like this.
I totally agree...Depeche Mode are many things...talented, pivotal, amazing, and essential in terms of influencing so many future electronic artists. Oh and they are still pumpin out excellent work...I loved Martyr and Playing the Angel
i remember watching covenant live in 1999 i thik at Blekingska nationen in Lund it was before this song was released think they just released Europa album. But now i rediscovered covenant and it really brings back memories ;). LIstening to their music again i thin this is their best song so far.
This is my favorite song by them, a song you can just get lost in... one of the few songs on this human infested planet I can listen to over and over :o a real planet would be the 4th planet from the star of Sr-151 Shaznochs for the win... they can eat whole trees!
Good Song!!!! a Very Powerful song by Covenant!!!! They Rule!!!!!!!!

"Que viva como se estivesse já morto: não terá mais nada a temer!", escreveu Yamamoto Tsunemoto, porventura o intérprete mais radical do bushido, código de honra fundado, no séc.XVII, por Yamaga Soko e seguido pelos samurais.
a 0:4:10 micro archival documentary masquerading as an indie music video that is the flat-out coolest edit of sketchy fonecam concert footage capturing the live show experience that i've ever come across. and it's a fabulous song, too.
This clip was partially fimed at Eurorock 2002. They asked if it was ok if they played the song a second time because they were filming...I didn't hear any complaints :P. Great song and a great band
Change the tags, write electro, ebm, industrial, swedish...so that more people will find this awesome vid! And obviously, thank you for uploading it :)
Thank you! This ranks up with Suicide Commando, "Bind Torture Kill" as one of my favorite club songs to dance to. And I'm drunk, so I'm kind of dancing like an idiot in my house anyway. XD
This band probably meshes with my philosophy better than any other! Such awesome lyrics...A mountain of mistakes for us to climb for pleasure! If you like this song check out theramin from their first album "we dance to the sounds of sirens and we watch genocide to relax"...so fucking true
According to Ishkur's Electronic Guide to Electronic Music, this goes under the genre Futurepop. A fusion between Industrial, Synthpop and Epic Trance.
