Hey my new friend! We crab here in Oregon for dungeoness and red rock crabs. It’s a similar process. I have my own boat so I can get out further. I also do a lot of ocean fishing.
Yes.. and I started Crabbing 55 years ago. Those are the good Ole days with family. I would also suggest to drop your nets straight down instead of letting them float out.. the crabs are smart and they can grab from the sides and not have to go into the basket.. and when you go to lift them out.. they are hanging on the side and get off easier. Keep em coming 😊
Wou.d you mind giving a location suggestion? I'm going to Bradenton in the beginning of March, but I'm overwhelmed on where to go now with such little time to spend. My dad will be coming to, but his knees aren't so great anymore. Any insight would be appreciated!
Oh yea I've been having some good luck and fun exploring alot of spots in mims,oakville fl recently,its Saturday morning 5/14/22 and I just got back from a all day crabbing and fishing adventure 🤙💯. The blue crabbing has been picking up this year, been seeing a lot of baby, young Male and female crabs and been using Google maps to find hidden spots, awesome places 🙏,I'll send you some Google pins on some of my favorite places Ok 🦀👊
Have you ever been under the bridge in New Smyrna?? I got a whole cooler full of blues there on last Friday and plan on going back very soon!! But the best days to go are weekdays cuz you’re not fighting for a spot!! I had folks downright fishing me out of my spot!! Let me know if you know of any good spots too.
