In this episode Exodos goes on the hard in Monastir, Tunisia, to get some reparations and maintenance done. Most important things: crack in the keel and leaking propellor shaft seals. And an almost broken swimplatform and arch.

Cheers guys! How many languages do you speak Wim? Ps can you keep us updated on the repairs? I’m actually thinking a stainless steel square box style beam across the two hulls, Reinforced inside the hulls with glassed in hardwood backing plate’s, but i know it’s easy saying that from here, you need to use whatever is available.. but it would be nice, a super aft beam, and another at the bow, basically removing any potential “flex” between the two, then on the aft one weld a tube Diagonally up to the mid arms of the dingy davits/solar arch , if you understand this basically the force is not only supported by the downward pressure, but pulling up on the sides of both hulls, transferring the weight Distribution in two different directions. That’s the simplest way i can see, not actually being there and knowing what’s actually available.. i like the timber under the keel idea, if anything i would make that thicker, because you have already seen it’s protected the keels perfectly? From what i can see, so I personally would replace both sides, maybe 6x4 x the full length of each keel, Epoxy soaked, and glued and bolted the full length, doesn’t even really need to be overly fared in, because it’s “ Sacrificial” rub guard, basically what they did, (whoever that was) that part it seems they got right.. again its seriously impossible to offer advice without actually being there and seeing what’s available.. + budget? But would love to see an undated.. thanks mate!

Hi, Trev! About the languages. Dutch, of course :-) Than English. Reasonably okay in German, and a little French, a little Spanish. That's it. Quite normal for Dutch people. Wish I had done my best at school. About the platform - I made a stainless steel rectangular box beam with welded plates that are bolted into the hulls. New davits/solar panel arch combination is stainless steel, bolted on the platform above the beam, and hind legs bolted on the back of the cockpit, but you'll see that in later videos. No beam needed in the front, because we don't have trampolines, but a solid deck. Time on the hard was much longer than anticipated! :D

Leuke video hoor Wim! Wij hebben ook een prout, quest 31. Zo te zien is er veel geklust in het verleden aan jouw boot, mijne is vrijwel origineel. Ik vroeg mij af, waarom heb je alleen aan bakboord een bulb boeg? BTW, zit je niet op het prout owners Facebook groep? Anders had je al snel geweten dat je kielen schoenen hadden.

Dank je!. Maar het is geen Prout, Pieter 🙂 Het is een Dean, uit Zuid Afrika. Dean heeft de Prout 37 min of meer gekopieerd, vandaar dat hij er heel erg op lijkt. En twee andere Deans van hetzelfde model van mensen die we kennen, hebben die schoenen niet. Wat die bulb betreft - die aan stuurboord is eraf gebroken toen we in de medicane van twee jaar geleden een keer met die hull op de kade zijn gestuiterd. Ik heb nu van dezelfde maat dikwandige pvc buis een nieuwe gemaakt. Maar dat krijg je in komende video's nog te zien.

Yeah, an early start was the only way to survive :-) And yes, they should give singing lessons to the Mosque guys, and tell the to sing in tune with eachother :-) Targa? Okay. Whatever it's called, we dumped it!
