Timmy, my hubby used to suffer with corneal erosion. If he woke up too suddenly and opened his eyes too fast, it would be agonizing pain for the rest of the day. At the time, he was drinking a lot of diet Mountain Dews. At someone's suggestion, he stopped drinking them and the eye problem completely cleared up. Now he swears it was the aspartame in the sodas contributing. I don't know, just something to consider since I know you love your diet Coke. Hugs from a fellow Floridian!
That lady seemed a bit rude to me, but you dealt with it well! I realized long ago that most people are just not courteous anymore. It’s a bummer, but I’ll continue to be my overtly nice n courteous self, hopefully I’ll brighten those rude @ss jerk’s day… or at least p*ss them off that I’m not gonna stoop to their level & let them affect me 😅 ooh, those loaded steak fries look and sound so yummy! I will probably try the Biscuit Benedict dish, just because Eggs Benedict is my favorite breakfast dish. I make it at home, because Knorr has a really good Hollandaise sauce mix that’s easy to whip up, and the leftover sauce actually freezes well. If I like Cracker Barrel’s version, I might replicate it at home. I’m sorry the food wasn’t up to par, but as always, it was fun to have a “chat” with you over a meal.
Oh my gosh Timmy I am so sorry that you had to deal with that eye pain, I know exactly what you mean, just recently my left eye was irritating so bad and it was just out of nowhere, it got to the point where I had to use eye drops because there was either something stuck in my eye or I just had dry eye, I absolutely hate that feeling too, it drives me bonkers, but I am glad that you did not have to deal with that erosion again, that truly sounds like a nightmare. Knock on wood for me too, I haven't had a painful eye experience in quite some time.

I tell the drive thru workers when I love their makeup or hair or friendly voice. I don't think many take the time to compliment them. My teenager tells me, " Mom, don't bother them" but I think complimenting others is a good thing.
I love complimenting people and honestly recommend everyone try it. Compliment people that probably aren’t often told they’re beautiful. Compliment on style choices or things like their laugh or vibes or just presence in a space. It feels awkward when you’re first starting out, but just keep doing it. I promise it opens your eyes to the true beauty in people.

The apples taste like canned apples because they ARE canned apples. Source: Used to work at Cracker Barrel. Don't let the "home cooking" theme trick you, a LOT od their stuff ia either canned or frozen food. I know when i was there, the biscuits and dumplings were still made in house, but most of the stuff comes from a package or can. Evem the hash brown casserole is made from frozen shredded potatoes. Interestingly enough, the mashed potatoes are actually made in house. (I still hear the sound of that damn industrial potato peeler in my nightmares.)

It smells like fish because they probably fried it in the same oil for everything else which technically restaurants are not suppose to do because of food allergens.
