Cradle of Filth is the band that got me to love black metal back in 95,the first song i heard from them was To eve the art of witchcraft. Which made me love this shit, beauty and darkness together.
Their period 1993-1997 was their best and their peak. The 1994 e.p. is my favourite. Thanks for posting this. Too bad Nick Barker left, they are too slow now. Great Dani growling stuff.

they used to be real black metal. now it's just realll grown up and refined without the anger and frustration. like when metallica was young they were hard as hell, then they grew up, and forgot what it was like to be a real metal band.
Well, even though their new stuff is different, I still like it because they're still Cradle of Filth. Even if they sound different, they're still the same band. Damnation and a Day was the best album they ever put out, by the way.
I know this is 11 years old comment, but they are definitely not the same band anymore. Danni is the only original member. Oh, and 11 years on, is damnation still your favourite cradle album? Do you still listen to cradle? Honestly interested
I think it's quite harsh how so many people are saying that Cradle are shit now - they are nowhere near shit, I mean come on, these guys have been going for like 15 years, if they had exactly the same sound and style as the very beginning of their career, fans would probably get bored. Nymphetamine was the first album I heard and I milked the shit out of it for about 3 months, and I still love it. Don't be so harsh about Cradle - you'd miss them if they decided to split up!
Listen, I know it's been seventeen years since you posted this, but the world is cruel, and I didn't get to experience 90s CoF. SO my question to you Ice Knight is if you are maybe selling or know where I can get my hands on a copy of ANY of the three 1992 demo tapes I would greatly appreciate it. I as a 16 year old stuck 1-3 decades before I was born have spent a lot of time on the Metallum and when I found out that I could listen to something before dusk I lost it. I was very uneducated on this band at one point believe it or not. Following Jon's passing I listened to these again and decided that I'm not stopping until I have that piece of history
i never really believed there was such a thing as a pure black metal cradle of filth till i read lords of chaos and a saw a picture and i was amazed hahaha
@@dzela459 1. Cradle of Filth never stated themselves as true black metal, or trv cvlt, or anything like that. They did and still do what they like, so it's more melodic black metal or something like that. So you can't judge someone in something they don't anticipate (being trv cvlt) 2- for fuck sakes, just let people listen what they want
Gorgoroth kept their same style, but their last album was fresh. The next one will be even more, since none of the original members will be in the band.

@filth69ify1 fuck yeah, to truly appreciate an artist you must consider all their works equally, plus the sick fuck is a poet at heart, give him some credit, Black metal or not, i remain a loyal fan, no matter what they put out, i still buy the album after all
hmmm...more people fighting over cradle??? I think people who don't like cradle are actually angry that they don't like them.... so look for places that COF fans are to simply vent the frustrations born of their own inability to hear the greatness the rest of us can hear in COF..maybe?? who knows...i don't understand it at all...

c'mon dude!! i mean, thornography is really bullshit, but dusk and damnation are two great albums, i even dare toi say that they are better than nymphettamine , and godspeed is also a great work, anyway cradle rules HAIL!!!
My problem with them is not that it is different, all their albums have been different from each other except for Vempire and Dusk, those two were pretty much the same. Its just that they suck so bad now. Their material sucks and they as a band suck live now. And to make things worse they just try to appeal to the mainstream "Metal Head" or "Goth".

Jenn0s0h085, Cradle is pretty garbage now. Yes true fans would be bored if they kept realeasing the same sound but that doesnt mean they have to release crap music. They should have split up after Midian, thats when they really began to suck. Nymphetamine was an ok album though.
