I hear a lot of content creators say that they struggle with calling what they do a "job" or "work" or a "business." But you are providing entertainment (for lack of a better word - I realize it is often more than that), and many people in entertainment fields are highly paid and few people question if what they do is legitimate work. Have you read the book Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert? I think it's a great reminder to give yourself permission to be a creative person (including as a way to earn a living!) and to really value the process and what you produce. This may not be something you struggle with regularly, but I get the impression that you do sometimes question your value in this space, so I thought you might find this book helpful. I listened to the audiobook, which was quite enjoyable. Thank you for the cozy and interesting videos -- the addition of the house and land renovation content is lovely!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for writing this. I truly feel so much love and support from your comment and I actually remember I read Big Magic many years ago and loved it! I will definitely re-read it since I've been struggling a bit with feeling like I'm not doing enough. Thank you so much again for this comment 🤎

Love love your warmth, kindness and honesty. Life is not fluff and all roses, sometimes we struggle and the people around us struggle. We all need to breathe and spend each day supporting each other with love and understanding. Knitting helps me focus and overcome the panic that stress brings me. I wish that everyone could have such a thing in their life that I get from knitting. When the stitches are created they hold my love and take my stress into themselves and it leaves my body. But knitting is a solitary activity, so sharing , watching and participating in youtube knitting channels help create a community and we are not lonely even when we are alone.

Martina, hello from a fellow Italian 💚 I felt every word you said, I recognise myself in everything you’re stating, I’m doing my best to make a living out of what I truly love and care about and I know how hard it can be. I hope you’ll consider the idea to write down one of your patterns, I’m sure many of us would love to test it. It could be a creative way to have an option to support your work fully, without you having to give part of what you earn to a platform. I really care about what you do and I’m sure many people would love to buy one of your patterns. Un abbraccio enorme 🌷

My husband and two kids live in the US and find it so important to learn how to be self sustainable! Or the way you put it is so lovely too: dependent on the land. We’re raising our kids to learn the importance of our land and how to respect it. My son is 4 and LOVES vegetables so we’re both excited for the harvest in the fall. I too LOVE lots of veggies!! 🥦 🥕

It sad that choosing your own way sometimes comes with feeling ashamed of not being a part of the "generel workforce". In Denmark we call it "being on the hamster wheel" it is such a sad picture, a hamster running and running, but what is I running to? Our life is our own and it is up to us what we make of it and what makes us happy. I admire you for having the courage to choose your own path in life and for using you voice in such a positive way.

When we bought an "as is" house many years ago we referred to each other's input as the planning department. That way more joint decisions were made and we both felt better for that. It will all come along and you will create your magic.

Your thoughtfulness and grace towards yourself, others and nature are inspiring and beautiful to see. Your answers to some of the more philosophical questions show insight and awareness. Thank you. Thank you Martina, it is always such a welcoming, soulfull space you create, and my wish for you is to keep moving more and more towards the Love you share and further from fear, even though as you so wisely say, fear is a part of things, and it actually serves us as a reminder to pay attention to certain things, to maybe change something, to maybe slow down or modify the route a little, or rest, and recommit to the journey. This home IS built with Love and may you all be so serene and surrounded by Joy and the Love you put in it..🥦🌽🥬🥕🥒🌶️🍆🍅🫑🫚 and may you more and more own your powerful creative nature 🙏🏻🪷big hug my dear to all four Ms ❤

one of the most important things i learned in therapy is that there is a difference between guilt and responsibility. none of us chose to be born into privilege or deserved to be traumatised as kids (which we all were to individual degrees, just like we all have some privilege), but we do have the responsibility to work on both. grief and gratitude are great tools to help with that, but healing and being effective allies to those who are less privileged must be our ultimate goals - no matter how slow the progress. i know that you're a very compassionate and morally engaged person, so please don't feel that saying any of this is critical of you! i merely want to supply you with more vocabulary to counter those weaponised 'arguments' about privilege (not that you're obliged to do it publicly of course, just for yourself) ❤ people can be incredibly jealous of even the smallest things so they hope to trigger us (especially women, because the accusation of selfishness is even more hurtful for us who are still raised to put everybody else's problems before our own) in front of others and make a sport out of trying to 'tear us down' from our perceived 'high horse'. i think the way you are open and not afraid to say that you're not sure about some things is actually the best protection against those things, but we should also always try to become more informed and learn to use our privilege to make the world a better place. but again, nobody has the right to demand that you talk about how and what you do and think in the ways of allyship/advocacy publicly, especially because everyone has their personal limits and those are strictly private ❤

Don't worry about the bats. Bats never eat sosp. Ever. But mice and rats DO. And something to know about those 2 rodents, rats make a nest somewhere snd they always share their food do when they find something ( and remember they will eat anything) they take it back to their 'family' and share it but sometimes, they can't carry it all the way so this is why you will find your soap somewhere else and why there are teeth marks in the soap. Mice on the other hand will make anywhere a home and they eat what they can wherever they find it unless they have babies. Bats will never move food around. :-)
