Christmas is coming and so is Christmas Dinner and I have NINE people to prepare for, and in an effort to make things a little more sustainable I'm sewing reusable Christmas crackers and crowns for everyone. Join me for a lovely winter sewing day while we get started on part one of the project.
If you want to rescue me from drowning in these beautiful fat quarters they are on sale on the outlet shop at wholesale cost (50% off retail you'll find anywhere else) - shop.sewhayley...

I'm from the US and I've never heard of Christmas Crowns, but I will make some for my grandsons. I had no clue what you were referring to when you said Christmas Crackers, I thought it was some type of food. Can't wait to see those made.

They are such a main feature of Christmas here, if you book a Christmas meal at a restaurant they will have crackers there too! Such a funny silly little thing really but it’s not Christmas without them

I have really been enjoying your videos. Your sweet and happy spirit is so refreshing. I love your curly hair, mine is straight and won’t hold a curl. Lovely crowns! I loved your history lesson, how amazing to live near such historical places.

Aw thank you so much, that’s such a lovely thing to read! It’s funny isn’t it, I used to straighten my hair all the time because I hated having curly hair… I’ve learnt to embrace it now

It was so nice walking and talking with you, Hayley! I do want to make both projects. My daughter in Wisconsin was really excited when I told her a few weeks ago that I would make Christmas Crackers for her family. 💗

Love this - made some crowns last year but each point was a separate section so more time consuming. I have just ordered the book as well to see how to make the crackers and my brain is in overdrive thinking about fillers!

Oh wow that sounds like such a long winded way of doing it, I bet they looked great though! I usually go for some sort of individual wrapped chocolate and a scratch card

Very cute. Try wearing a crown with a pixie cut! I look like I have hair growing out of my ears!

could you use iron on stabiliser instead of fleece? I don't want to spend any money, just use my stash. Thanks for sharing.

Definitely on my to do list for this Christmas! Can I just check how you did the fleece inside? It looked like you cut it smaller than the fusible interfacing? 🤔😀
@SewHayleyJane

Yes the fleece is about 1cm smaller than the main and lining pieces.
