I love cranberry orange bread/muffins ! I agree scrape every last bit out of the bowl; it bothers me on those cooking shows that don’t scrape the bowl.
I cleaned up your recipe so it is now in the accepted format. Cranberry Orange Bread Kaleb Wyse Ingredients: 4 Tbsp. Unsalted Butter, room temperature 1 cup white Granulated Sugar 1 large Egg 3/4 cup Orange Juice 1 Tbsp. Orange Zest 2 cups All-purpose Flour 1 1/2 tsp. Baking Powder 1/2 tsp. Baking Soda 1 tsp. Kosher Salt 1 1/2 cups Cranberries, chopped 3/4 cup toasted Chopped Walnuts (optional) For the crisp topping: 1/4 cup sanding sugar 1 Tbsp. orange zest Instructions: 1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8 1/2- x 4 1/2-inch loaf pan and line it with a piece of parchment to create a sling. Grease the parchment in the pan and set it aside. 2. In a large bowl, combine the sugar and butter. Using a hand or stand mixer, beat for three to five minutes. Add the egg, orange juice, and orange zest. Mix to combine evenly, about one to two minutes. 3. Add the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix until the dry ingredients are just incorporated. 4. Chop the cranberries by hand or add them to a food processor and pulse until they are evenly chopped. Add the chopped cranberries and chopped walnuts to the batter and fold to incorporate them. Do not overmix, or the cranberries will release their juices and color into the batter. 5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Run a knife or spatula down the center of the batter, touching the bottom of the pan to encourage a split when baking. 6. In a small bowl, combine the sanding sugar and the orange zest. Rub the mixture between fingers to create a wet sand-like mixture. Sprinkle the sugar mixture evenly over the batter and bake until the bread is domed and a skewer inserted in the middle comes out mostly clean, 30-40 minutes. Note: If using one large pan, bake for 45-55 minutes. 7. Once baked, remove from the oven and cool in the pan for 15 minutes. Once slightly cooled, use the parchment sling to remove the bread and cool to serve.
My mom used to make this and spread green tinted whipped cream cheese on the slice, make a sandwich and cut in strips / like ribbon sandwich’s, from holiday coffee parties
Love your channel and recipes and creative ideas. Glad you are sharing your talents and skills with us. Merry Christmas! My mom used to make this bread when I was little too.
this is one of my favorites, any time of the year. I love the addition of the sugar-zest on top - a brilliant addition !!! thanks so much for sharing - you are truly an inspiration to us all. Wishing for you & yours a very Happy Christmas and a most Glorious New Year. Can't wait to see where it all takes us 😁
I think he is illustrating the recipe which is in the comments and if he was detailing the recipe as he went, I think it would be too fast for me to follow.
Kaleb, I love, love, love your candy/cookie/bread recipes. What about divinity. This can be a difficult candy to make, I've heard. But I trust you to come up with a no-fail recipe. Please.
Loved the recipe, especially the crisp topping. We don't grow cranberries in our country. Cud have used the dried ones instead but it will not yield me the same result as yours...so I'll have to give this recipe a miss. However, I regularly bake a Zucchini orange loaf all through winter and my next bake session, sometime nxt week, will have this zesty sanding sugar topping, adorning it, in all it's glory for sure. 🙂
That zucchini orange loaf sounds awesome! 🤤 If you have any sort of tart fruit in your country, you may be able to swap it out for that you want to try this recipe.
@@kaceynm Hmm. But no other tart fruit, unfortunately, will be able to replicate the look nd flavour of the cranberries. So i guess I'll have to give the recipe a miss 😒
Hi Kaleb, I love cranberry bread, but not cranberry orange bread. Do you have a recipe that doesn't include the orange, or how can I adapt your recipe? Thank you for any advice you can provide. I love your channel, by the way.
