We talk about them all the time but really - what are cravings and triggers? Cravings can be broken down into three parts - the physical aspect, the psychological aspect and the trigger aspect.
The physical craving is due to the discomfort you feel as your body is detoxing which also is exacerbated by the psychological aspect of feeling like you are giving up something that you like. Personally it took me about 30 days to get past the physical cravings. The psychologically took longer.
When discussing what are cravings and triggers - I must say the triggers were the hardest to deal with. Triggers have to do with the psychological and physical associations we have created with alcohol. Going out with friends a drink after a stressful day at work, etc.
Now that you know the answer to what are cravings and triggers you want to know how to deal with them. My best advice is to really go deeply into the question - why do I want to drink right now? Dig in and really analyze what is going n in both your body and mind.
