Awesome video as always. I run the Prolin baja pro X on mine with duel stage foams there great tires for me. I run on limestone rock and limestone gravel. They are great for trail running too.
I like the G8 compound a lot better than the predator compound personally. It just seems to work better and will definitely last longer. I've got some 18 year old proline tires I am planning on sending you when I get home eventually lol. Am thinking about sending some soft sticky drag slicks too, I'd like to see how they work on your rocks there lol
I've been running a set off M/T baja pro x off and on testing on all my rigs. It has monster bite and gets better when it feathers. But the lugs are huge and we know how that works especially with a soft compound.
Just mounted up a set of Rock beasts in komp compound for my SE, but really like how these performed. Wasn't sure if they would be too big for the SE. GREAT VID!!
Sl3d says that inserts from the Jconcepts Holds & Hunks both fit the proline baja pro X. It's a 4.85 tall tire, I forgot the width lol. I had predator compound on my phoenix and put G8 on my trx4, was a world of difference in traction, G8 is better for me. Ran the Tusk with squids today in West Texas too.
Schwalbe tires are a PITA to mount. I concur. I have an automotive tire mounter and balancer and have sat around thinking how i could make it work with that. (I can't)
should do a review on the new injora 1.9 king trekker trepador clones, still not sure how i feel about the uneven tread design but theres no denying they flat out work in the northeast where i am at...best 1.9 tire ive ever owned. and ive had them allll..
They're definitely the best of the Pro X options out there, but still not one of my favorite tires. They're... fine. ProLine should do a scale of the Pro XS, which is inarguably a better tire.
Yep. The brushed combo is the way to go-- the brushless version, aside from being significantly more expensive-- is just to powerful. This is the set I use: amzn.to/3Oz0onr But if you're not in a hurry, wait for a sale. They have the combo for $99 a couple of times a year.
Wow I never thought I'd see the day that you would run proline lol.. we run the Krawlers with anti foams and tuning rods with great results 1 rig is 6lbs and mine is 10.
@@KevW-z7z I don't like their business practices, I don't like their customer service, I don't like their pricing model, and in general I just think that there are better options for less money in 9 out of 10 situations.
Darn it Doc, I know have these in my modelshop basket to replace the RC4WD set I bought when the Prolines were out of stock everywhere! You think Proline dual stages would suit it?
Proline dual stage ONLY fit Proline beadlocks. They just don't work in a "regular" wheel. So unless you're diving headfirst into the Proline pool, I'd say no. On any normal beadlock, the Timtin dual stages work much better.
@@tiborbeetles1882 Yep. The beadlock ring for the PL beadlocks is almost V-shaped to keep the foams in place. So on anything else, they slide all over the place.
The Komdo is just a different flavor of the Buffalo, they share the same chassis, axles, etc. The GA44 is just Gmade's take on the AR44, so while some link lengths (like panhard and draglink) might change, a set of AR44s should just bolt right up.
@CrawlerCanyon oh so proline ftw for baja pro x?? Btw I've asked in ur dumborc ddf 350 video..i bought dumborc ddf350 but the weird thing is it wont do full turn left and right in my vanquish phoenix..already set the epa to max 120 but still no full turn as the stock transmitter does..do u knw whats the problem?
They're cheap Amazon copies of the KMC Machete (?,) probably Injora, which I got back in 2021. They come up as "currently unavailable" now. Couldn't find anything similar other than a red set from Benedict Harry-- I think 80% of the wheels on Amazon now are 105 clones. I don't even know where they are in the fleet now, actually.
@@CrawlerCanyon Dang, the only ones I have been able to find is the vanquish ones that are super expensive. I was hoping to find a cheaper alternative. Thanks for responding, I appreciate it!
@@ajscm6748 they still show up over at Injora: www.injora.com/products/4pcs-2-0-12-spoke-metal-beadlock-wheel-rims-fit-1-9-rc-crawler-tires but the silver are sold out.
