I’m not a squatter, but I’d probably become one if I had the opportunity to restore this house. Seeing that beautiful basement in such a state of disrepair is beyond heart breaking
That awesome house was designed like Domus (a Roman empire era Villa). A middle courtyard with wings built around it. The layout is hard to miss if you're a student (or like me simple fan) of the Roman Empire era.
I live a road away from this place. It was owned for years by an Italian family. The father was in real estate. Kids grown and moved out. The parents bought a retirement residence. It was only an Air BnB for a few years. I think it’s slated for demolition to make newer homes like most of the other homes in this area.
A lot of expense put into the construction: the hardwood floors, the lavish bathrooms, that solid wood office, etc. Sad that more expense couldn't have been put into the prevention of that extensive water damage/flooding. That layout would have me claustrophobic - narrow halls with all that mirroring... yikes! Great tour and great channel!
I know right?? Had this place been in America, it would've already been vandalized, torn up, mirrors broke, and full of graffiti. 😒😢 I saw one graffiti tag on the fireplace in the basement but that was it. This house is *beautiful* but I love retro style homes.
What a very strange house of mirrors. A really odd layout like everything is backwards. The grand staircase that leads to a basement??? Odd. Wonder how it came to be so flooded and even below the garage was flooded. Cool video of a very strange place.
I kinda like the place. With many cosmetic updates though. And I’d get rid of that huge pool and put a smaller one in, so there would be room for other things in the courtyard. The kitchen would have to be redone...much bigger! I could see this would be great for a large or extended family. And all those mirrors have to go! I really liked the stone wall though.
A unique house. Although, a lot of wasted space. Mirrors were very popular in the late 70s and 80s. Also that speaker system is a relic of the same time period. My parents had that same speaker system in their home. Used to call us kids instead of screaming.
Water needs to be pumped out ASAP. It will fill the house with MOLD😱. I hope when they demolish it they think about saving kitchen cabinets and appliances and chandeliers, nice doors and laundry appliances even the plantation shutters TO HABITAT FOR HUMANITY🙏🙏🙏🙏even kitchen and bathroom cabinets.
One of your most bizarre finds! Aren’t you surprised the mirrors aren’t smashed? It almost looks like a retreat/spa. The big mirrored room looks like a dance studio...boy they loved mirrors and tiled floors! With a place that large and a micro kitchen...very odd. You need to make t-shirts that say “Don’t look in the fridge”...this one was clean but others..yuck! Take care ❤️ 🇨🇦
Was this place ever lived in? Everything looks so clean and new. Love the bathrooms but all those mirrors would confuse me. Pity about the basement. Another nice find. Stay safe and well.
I was reading another comment from a lady that lives 1 street 9vercthere was a Italian family lived there, kids moved out and it was only a bb for a short time
That place was just weird enough to make me kind of like it. You could get exercise by running laps indoors when the weather is bad 🤣. I would love to see you in your kayak paddling around in that basement 🤣🤣. Cool place.
The place was soul-less and creepy with all the mirrors. It didnt feel like it was once someone's home. Maybe it was abandonec because it would have cost too much to pump the water out?
That was a cool mansion. It didn't look like it had been abandoned real long because the appliances looked pretty modern. That would make someone a great place to live with just a bit of work.
I think it has been a swinger or kind of sex club. All the mirrors, manny rooms and bathrooms, and lot of little cozy places. Big room for party downstairs, the pool and theres no windows to the outside, so strangers can’t look inside.
Oh trust me, there's ones way fuglier, lol. I saw one video with this massive mansion in Australia I think, and it had that late 80's/early 90's look going on, And by that, I mean all the walls were peach coloured! That gaudy pinkish orange colour. I know what you mean though. I honestly expected the interior to look more tacky, but surprisingly it was actually fairly conservative. The mirrors and long, narrow hallways make it a little creepy. I still think it's pretty neat though.
What a place....feels like some sort of weird cult retreat to me...lol...In really good condition, except for the watery basement... Another terrific explore ..thank you :-)
No a family of six live there my father built it with his bare hands so the right before the last recession we're going to build a subdivision there it's scheduled to be demolished
Such waste of a beautiful mansion to rotten away, isn't it?. I just love watching your video, love your channel intro music, love your seeing your handsome bright smile.:D
The house is in mint condition. Hope it is not torn down nice stair case.. if is ashame the baement is flooded. Would have been nice to see what it was like before it was flooded. But how would it be usable for what? Too many chopped up rooms.
I agree with the others, a very strange place. The long room at the beginning with the chandelier looks like it could be used as a dining hall, with one huge table. The lack of more bedrooms puzzles me as well, given all the amenities. Giant pool, tennis/basketball court, all going to waste. Brent, great job, as usual! Can't wait for the next explore!
This was an awesome video! Thanks for sharing. I wonder when it was last in use because everything is still in perfect condition, aside from the basement. It could definitely be restored and be a business once again.
I say it was a nudist resort. Hmm, all those mirrors..... The overall design is reminiscent of the 1980's, early '90,s. Big money was spent on this project whatever it was. Mae West stated, "I insist on a mirror over my bed. I like to see how I'm doing." What a woman! So far ahead of her time. Cheers
Back in 2015 when I was in college, my frat had an everlasting orgy there. the pool looked like a big bowl of egg drop soup. I think that is why it was abandoned.
Yuck ugly design &the ugly colour schemes in the bathrooms! At least the golden tiled one things matched but that lavender tiled one with green counter yuck!
Not sure about the "swingers" part, but i have heard that sometimes late at night, when the breeze is just right you can hear the sound of latex condoms flapping in the wind.
I agree with some of the comments on here that is a whole lot of wasted space I don't understand it I mean it's cool but it's a waste as well but I guess that's what they wanted. That kitchen sucks LOL
Wow, that place has an '80s feel to it, all those mirrors and the courtyard effect around the pool. The completely flooded downstairs is perhaps from broken pipes? When you said, "I didn't bring my boat..." that was the best chuckle of the day for me. The small room at 8:20 could have been for luggage storage for the guests and the large white structure outside could have been for firewood. Thank you for always finding the most unusual and interesting places Brent, Cheers.
In Ontario you need a sump pump to pump out the water from the weeping tiles around the footings, once the power is turned off and pump is disabled the basement fills with water especially in the spring.
The first room seems to be a pool house with the kitchen that looks like it was never used. These people probably went broke with a house that big and a lot of useless space.
Recently watched another explorer go through this place, a few months after you were there, apperently. The basement was clear of water..lots of black mold though!😷 Def an interesting find! XX
This house had a fun house maze feel to it, with all the mirrors, and long, narrow hallways. Did the water main break? Love all the brick and stone work! And the rounded arches! Wild house!
A new great abandoned explore from our favorite explorer! That house is such a great vacation home. You could spend a great holiday with friends and family! Greetings Robbie en Mariska 🙌👌😉
As a life long resident of Southern California, this style house is very common here. Spanish / American ranch style house. Wonder is the former residents were from the American southwest?
A couple years ago I watch a show about unusual houses, in the US a family builf a 'motel' like home, each brother and sister had a side for themselves, between each 'appartment' they had shared spaces, like corridors, in the center a pool. It was similar to this one except with defined living spaces. When all their kids grew up they sold it and a cult moved in. They turned it into a 'community'.
In lots of countries a wealthy family would build a compound like this for the extended members to all live in together. The walls and gates were to keep the women safe and enclosed, but with some luxury. The fact that the toilet and tub/shower are in separate rooms is also reminiscent of this type of life style.
I love that your smile is so big in the beginning! That was a ver interesting explore, the terrible that the basement was so flooded!! What would make it do that? That was a beautiful home!! Thank you Brent!
If you turn off the electricity in the house you are turning off the sub pump which pumps out water and all our houses if any houses electricity is turned off it will flood usually
I did not expect the basement to be actually THAT flooded. I expected like knee-high deep but that’s straight up waist deep or more. I’ve never seen anything like that before! Great video!
My brother once lived as a caretaker in the dying sprawl of a dead beer baron in Prince George BC. Do you notice a different quality of melancholy in a millionaire's abandoned property versus one of 'just folks'? I felt it at this green pool and flooded basement, just as I did in the morosely mouldering mansion of 'Uncle Ben."
The Ben Ginter house is long gone, torn down. Only the foundation, front stairs, retaining wall, and driveway is left. I remember riding my bike up there in the late 1960's and looked in the front door window. No one seemed to be home at the time. I still remember the layout.
That's a crazy place! Hall of mirrors, flooded lower level, i noticed allot of the doorsets were removed. Surprisingly clean still. That would be great if you could go back with some hip waders or your kayak!
This was massive and overwhelming for me! How can this be abandoned when it looks so absolutely new and clean?! Doesn't make any sense then how and why the basement, of which is another complete living space be flooded?! It's the outside property that shows that there's been no upkeep! Such a waste! I liked the little cottage out back, that never had it's renovation done! Lol! Thanks for showing!❤️
What a shame the basement is at least 1-2 ft deep. Shoot, you can always move the pool outside down to the basement. You'd think someone would save this building....so many families are homeless these days...great one, Brent!!
In Ontario most homes are not connected to the storms sewers, they reply a a sump pump(s) to pump the water out of the weeping tiles around the footing of the house. Most houses the pump runs for several weeks in the spring.
One of my aunts lived in a house that had that same type of layout with a court yard with a pool in it back in the late 1980s. I loved going to her house in the summer time when I was in my teenage years.
This place is fantastic, well all except the flooded basement. The bathrooms were beautiful with all the nice tile and fixtures. The appliances were really clean.

freaktography ripping of your video ideas. what a narcissistic jerk.
I would be willing to bet the swimming pool pump is located in the basement...which is stupid on the part if the architect. Someone must have broken a pipe. You can see the water level was higher at one point. Just guessing, seems to me I have seen this house before.
