In the firearms world we have something called "tactical elitists" - people that spit on guys for running $500 built-up AR-15's with iron sights rather than $2000 cnc machined rigs and $1500 optics. From the comments here, I just learned there's also "trailer elitists". To each his own, whatever satifies the owner and thier mission is good enough for me.

@@546people i agree with your post 100%. sundowner sells a crawler hauler model. there $70k new plus. there have been several people that have built units like ogob racing or similar. there are more of them out there then people know. these types of toyhauers are perfect for there application! nice work ogob genesis supreme overnighter has been built for several years and momentum just released there 292go model . they both are scaled down versions of ogob racings build.

My buddy built something similar buy putting a slide in camper on a gooseneck trailer with room at the back for a rig. I have seen it done that way a few times. This it the 1st time I have seen a full travel trailer mounted on a gooseneck. Cool idea. Long rig but cool idea.

That's one big unit! You will rarely hear me say this but in this case I would suggest upgrading to a dually rear end because of so much weight he is hauling.

Not necessary, the more weight he adds the lighter his drive gets. It’s a 1 ton with upgraded tires and wheels,he’s under his total and all axles. Why does he need a dually? I agree it would be more stable but with that argument we should go right to class 8 trucks w 30/44k rears...

Hes under his rear axle capacity by 1000lbs. From that, probably safe to say he is within his payload numbers too. Therefore no need. Would it hurt to have the dually, definitely not but it simply isn't necessary.

This is one of the nicest vehicle haulers I've seen. He took the time to rubber mount a full trailer and then skirt the sides so it looks better. Also it wasn't some $500 trailer that was bought off Craigslist. Usually you see the pullers weld a truck bed camper or 15 foot stick and tin trailer on a standard bumper pull trailer. Once there was one guy that did a fifth wheel.

I love it. I really wanted the ability to tow my motorcycles, but couldn't find anything outside of an actual toy hauler to do it. This is an awesome idea. Maybe one day I'll do something like this for the bikes.

I believe this setup is the best for its intended use. How else could you carry an off road vehicle and atv and still have a camper? I would imagine there are a lot of people out there that could use a rig like this!

@@gatekeeperoffroad4252 great build. I know there’s a company that makes them but like you said this one is what you like as far as camper plus you already had the trailer. I like the fact you put rubber mounts underneath it that is about the best idea. I seen where people have put a pop up camper on top of the gooseneck and mounted it on a carousel type thing to spin around so the door faces the trailer deck and the just put the stairs on the side of the trailer and then a set going up to the camper

I have built myself one similar to this but 35’ triple axel bumper pull with a 16’ enclosed trailer on the front for shop space and deck out back for my ‘82 custom Toyota 4x4 pickup, pulls great!!!

Hell of a straight forward modification. I'd be nervous about that SRW 1-ton, just because the trailer is so damned long. But hell, it's pretty amazing. Can't find what you want? Got a welder? Do it youself!

Pretty awesome custom trailer. I am really impressed with the weight distribution between the truck and trailer and that he somehow managed to keep his rear axle weight lower than mine and I’m pulling a more traditional non gooseneck trailer with less overall weight! VERY impressive indeed!

Anybody looking for something similiar, check out Sundowner trailers. They make a trailer called the Outdoorsman. I had one custom built with a 16' enclosed portion (just an empty cargo area) and a 10' bed. Great guys to work with. Cost roughly 16K. They can make them with living quarters as well.

This is basically the idea of building the tool you need, and not being satisfied with the tool you are given. I love that he just didn't plop the trailer on their, but fared it all in to make it look right. Very disappointed, would have loved more shots of the entire trailer.

That's hitch to bumper. Gooseneck trailers are typically measured by floor length (because the neck overlaps the truck) so this one is only 40 feet on paper, but yeah it's still a monster

What is your overall length front bumper to back of trailer. In Texas we can not be longer that 65 ft with truck and trailer combo or 53ft on the trailer if the truck is registered as a tractor.
