I mean, in terms of films, if they want and the 3rd film is decent, it's possible there will be another triology of films ordered. It's a shame that Jim Carrey jumped out of nowhere, no one wants to change him. I see the potential of the next films to bring Chaotix and a Sonic Heroes approach, and of course, with Silver, Blaze, etc.

Seems they’re learning from Colors Ultimate - the original game holds up really well, so my guess is all they’re doing is upscaling the resolution and not trying to redo everything that doesn’t need it

Yeah, that's kinda unlikely. And even if they did do that for some reason, old mods still working would require them to straight up not touch the old filesystem at all. Even if they so much as just change filecompression, the current mods are toast and have to be ported.

My PC runs the game like poop cause I can't afford a gaming rig. Just because you say "It's on PC" doesn't mean it's accessible cause plenty of folks can't afford a decent PC. I'd say Generations deserves a remaster simply because the superior console version never released on a Nintendo console, so for switch owners this is a no brainer day one purchase. Generations deserves a remake for those reasons, and also because playstation owners have been stuck either having to buy the game on PS3 or cloud stream it because Sony refuses to develop decent PS3 emulation on their hardware, so for many players this is the first physical, natively running version of the game they'll have access to. Playstation and Switch owners make up at least half the user base for Sonic Games, so you can't really say the game has been super accessible. Just because you have access to it on the platforms you personally use doesn't mean the game "doesn't deserve a remaster". Your initial disappointment before reveal is mainly a you problem. Plenty of people want a physical, natively running version on THEIR platform, and for years the only places to play it natively were on PC, Xbox, and an actual PS3. I would not exactly call that "accessible" or "undeserving of a remaster". That's nonsense.

Also, now that I think of it, Sonic Generations ran on the original Hedgehog Engine, and used an older version of Havok physics engine... know what else used those? Sonic Unleashed. For all you know, this release could be a test for porting games over to Hedgehog Engine 2 and the latest version of Havok, so think of this as unofficial confirmation that they might be cooking up an Unleashed Remaster later on, and are just testing the technology with Generations, the safer option for them. The long standing "official" reason that Unleashed never got a remaster is because it used an older version of Havok and Hedgehog Engine. Generations is a test, I'm calling it now. If they are able to clear the hurdles keeping Generations on Last Gen hardware, they likely will be able to clear the hurdles they have with Heroes and Renderware to remaster THAT one down the line, as well as the hurdles keeping Unleashed on Last Gen hardware. Persona 4 ran on Renderware originally, now it's on EVERYTHING. Put all of that stupid Internet Cynicism away for more than 5 minutes - the sky's the limit! Glass half full, NOT half empty... come on, guys! Pull yourselves together.

@SonicStyle404 I wasn't directing the "its on pc" comment at you, I was riffing on SF productions' reasons for why he was initially disappointed by the game before it was officially announced. In a video he posted just yesterday he was claiming that Sonic Generations didn't need a remaster because it's on PC and Xbox. I was directing my comment at SF Productions specifically because the game is not as accessible as he says it is. Generations HD never released on a Nintendo Platform (it skipped the Wii all we got was a handheld version which was totally different) and in teems of Playstation, you're either paying for a cloud subscription or searching for a PS3 and a physical copy online (or buying from the PS3 store which is still up by the way, better take advantage of that!) Aside from PC, PS3 and Xbox Series consoles, there really isn't a way to play it on native hardware, making it not as accessible as SF Productions said it was, rendering his argument that it doesn't deserve a remaster invalid. My PC can barely handle the game as well, and I can't afford a better one right now. Simply saying "It's on PC" doesn't negate the fact that a game is largely inaccessible, because a lot of people are console players and as much as the PC "master race" loves to gatekeep and call us "console peasants", it doesn't really help their case much. Not everyone can afford a 2000 dollar plus machine, and they need to just wrap their proud, overcompensating little pea brains around that.
