I've been having really bad anxiety and a really hard time falling asleep and calming down in general but for some reason your videos do the job. I am a huge makeup enthusiastic and the way you explain textures and colours is just terrific. It might be a bit weird that I find your videos so soothing but I just wanted to thank you for the consistent aesthetically pleasing content. It makes such a difference
Sorry to hear you've been feeling like this Rosa! I often use videos to help me calm down too so I'm always so flattered that mine can play that part for other people ❤️ Look after yourself! x
Hi Matilda, thank you for the lovely content you create. An Egyptian subscriber over here so a very different skin tone (light tan) but I think my philosophy on makeup is similar to yours, an indulging sensory ritual that embraces and brings out my natural features. I have a small suggestion, since you enjoy traveling so much maybe you can do a makeup series inspired by different cities? I know you mostly take minimal multitasking products but I’d be curious to see how to incorporate the feel of the space even with a small element like a color shade or a specific texture. I also appreciate that you sometimes offer alternatives to people of different skin complexions and types like the video you made on the long lasting blushes, I have combination skin and it helped me a lot. Sorry for the long comment and thank you again 🙏🏼
I remember seeing the Youthforia blush all over tiktok, but I don’t trust those reviews the same way I trust you, Matilda 😂 I’d be interested to see a video that focuses on Jones Road - their offerings seem promising!
I ADORE Tower28's lip glosses. All of them are so comfortable on the lips, never sticky and so hydrating. I'm tempted to buy all the shades, they're so pigmented!
I’m obsessed with the Jones Road miracle balm-so happy to see you have it!! Feels the most like skin care benefits to me and is a critical step for me when use it the “face pencils” in the JR line. No makeup makeup look that works for my dry skin. Can’t wait to see your take on the rest of Bobbi’s new line.
I love the two Tower 28 blushes I have but my fav product of theirs is definitely the lip gloss! I own most of them at this point and love every shade (jelly and milky formulas)
I’d love to see Salt New York’s Creme Tint Pro and Phytosurgence’s Skin Spark Blush Balm make an appearance in your swatch videos! Both are excellent formulas-there’s nothing quite like the Skin Spark imo-and beautifully color-mixed. Salt’s blushes are sheer, balmy and buildable while Phyto’s are rich but super easy to sheer out and give a natural skin-finish, so there are great options for every skin tone/type! Sadly you’ll have missed out on Salt’s limited fall/winter shades (my absolute favorite blushes from them) by now but if you have friends in the US who can pick them up for you, you should absolutely give them a try: I know you’ll adore them!
Both of these brands are *so* high on my wishlist! 😍 I keep hearing fantastic things from followers and fellow creamy makeup content creators. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on them! x
Ooooo I’m such a blush girl especially cream formulas! Time to hit checkout haha. Would love a video on skin tint recommendations/comparisons! Thanks Matilda🥰
Thank you Nikita! I've had a lot happening lately so unfortunately my upload schedule has been very messy, and I've lost my voice this week so my next video will be delayed until I can record a voiceover again 😭 More Celebrity Makeup Bags coming soon too! x
That Saie Peachy blush is everything!! I’ve been using it nonstop since I bought it during the sale. The Jones Road and Chanel caught my eye, but I’m trying to be more mindful and intentional with my purchases and you’re not helping Matilda 😂😂💖💖💖
Thanks to your videos I discovered the wonderful Nudestix blushes. I used up the shade Salty Siren and now I’m using nonstop the shade Sunset Strip. I’m seriously considering purchase the shade Naughty N Spice for Christmas ☺️
Wow Anaclara, well done for finishing one of those sticks! Mine seem to be never ending, even when I was using Sunkissed almost every day a few summers ago ☀️ x
I was going to ask if you have tried Japanese brand Three Cosmetics' Shimmering Glow Duo but after seeing the size of the Jones Road blush, I held off on recommending it to you. That's going to take a while to finish! The Jones Road blush reminded me of the Shimmering Glow Duo in a way but it dries into a powder and the shades are perhaps more subtle. It's a product that I have a lot of memories with as it was my splurge before I left for uni three years ago and I would use it when I wanted to quickly throw something on. I'm probably supposed to replace it by now but mine was so lightly used since the pandemic that I'm still using it now.
Haha thank you for holding back Ashly, I'll be here finishing that Jones Road pot for years 😂 I just looked up the Shimmering Glow Duo though, it's lovely! x
Which liquid blush do you think are most like the BECCA beach tints in consistency? I love that formula because it sticks to the skin so well and still retains its dewyness.
Ooh I might have to take that question on notice, Maddie! Someone else asked me for shade comparisons for the old Becca Beach Tint in Fig recently, so I'll try to report back ☺️👍 x
do you have a concealer video? i really like how you talk about the products, it's calming and informative and the visuals are just sooo easy on the eyes.
Another gorgeous addition to the cream blush chronicles!!! Always such a treat whenever you post a new video! These tones are so pretty and perfect for anytime of the year! Definitely adding some to my wishlist! Hope you’re doing well and having a wonderful year so far Matilda! Another fantastic, well done video as always! 🫶
I have 5 of the 6 Tower 28 Blush colors- I am obsessed! The Lys blushes are next on my collection list, I have two so far, lovely formula and very well priced! ☺️☺️☺️
@@matildaonvideo loooooove their glosses too! 🧡❤️💜 ( I love a matching bIush and lip moment) I do have one bronzer that I need to play with a little bit more. I can’t wait to see what they create next✨
My most favorite blush is from Dior, rouge blush called Charnelle, number 459. You should def try it! I’m super fair skinned but I love it! It’s like the flush from a great day at the beach or going to the gym without the sweat. I wish I could teleport it to you to try! Love your content. Wish I could as meticulous as you. 💓
If you loved Miracle Balm. They are now being available in smaller packages. I have Au Natural, Flushed and Miami Beach. Although I was too excited for Flushed but Miami Beach is just so beautiful. And I am guessing you would love it too. Since you are a peach tones fan.
Matilda, I adore each and every one of your videos and immediately click as soon as I get a notification of your upload. 😅 I believe you would love the Dior Glow Stick in the rose colored tone! It really just gives you that dewy finish with a hint of flushed color, as in, a healthy, natural cheek color!! It’s so pretty and easy to use :)
Matilda, I agree with your comment on how much blush you get with the Jones Road product. However, with as multitasking as it is and hydrating, I use it often enough during the winter months to justify the size. This past weekend Bobbi’s site sold a kit of all the miracle balms in travel size. That is the way to go if you love the product! Also, it’s a great product to travel with- I put my two favorite colors in a small pot side by side.
Thank you for sharing this Abigail! I've heard from other followers that it's nice as a base / mixed in with moisturiser too, so I'll give that a try ☺️👍 I missed out on the mini kit, I wish they sold that size permanently! They're so cute x
I love your videos because it feels like i'm getting recs from a friend who really knows me and my taste :) like they make me feel safe if that makes sense
I love your content so much! I know you don’t usually do recommendations, but I’ve really been eyeing the tower 28 cream blushes, and I’d love to know your opinion on if it’s worth the price tag?
Thank you! Unfortunately I never comment on whether a product is 'worth it' because that's a personal call. I haven't compared the Tower 28 price to the amount of product in the packaging, but you could look at the other blushes in my Dewy Cream Blush episode and see which one gives you the most for your money 👍 x
Ooh good thinking Drina, but sadly I don't explore the concealer world very often! I've been very loyal to Cle de Peau and Chanel for many years 👍 Chanel Éclat Lumière is nice and luminous for the under-eye area, a lot like YSL Touche Éclat which I love too! I also like BY TERRY's Hyaluronic Hydra-Concealer x
OH MY GODD.. I WENT THROUGH ALL YOUR PLAYLIST YESTERDAY BECAUSE I WANTED TO BUY A CREAM BLUSH!!! AND FINALLY I PICKED ONE AND ORDERED AND YOU PUT THIS VIDEO UP TODAY!!! AHAHA.. WHAT A COINCIDENCE 😃💞
Ooh interesting Fatihah! The Chanel pots are definitely more slippy, thin and dewy on the skin. I get more of a whipped or creamy feel from the Tata pots when I swirl my finger in them ✨ x
@@matildaonvideo Oh I see. Matilda could you recommend some formulations that are similar to the Tata Harper blush pots? I’ve loved mine but they are harder to find now, here in Toronto 😭
Thank you Sadie! Unfortunately I've lost my voice at the moment so the video might have to be a little later than planned so you can hear me properly 😅 x
I’m such a sucker for cream blushes, I love this series. The Youthforia blush reminds me of Smashbox’s O Glow, hopefully it doesn’t stain like O Glow did. I got frustrated with the hot pink fingertips and stopped using it.
Thank you Jennifer! Ooh interesting.. Haven't noticed any hot pink fingertips yet luckily haha, but I always wash my hands a lot / wipe them on tissue when I'm applying makeup with my fingers. I'm sure it would blend nicely with a fluffy brush too 👍 x
Matilda I LOVE your videos!! This is a specific question because I don’t remember… have you ever reviewed Dior’s Rosy Glow blushes? I want to try the pink one soooo bad, but want to hear your thoughts first! 💖
Thank you so much Robert! 🥰 Ooh no I haven't, I think I might have the coral version of the Rosy Glow blush hiding in a drawer somewhere but haven't played with it properly... The pink looks so pretty but probably too bright for me, so thank you for reminding me to test out the coral! x
Another Canadian brand for lip/cheek tints is Birch Babe! I think they’re organic/vegan/cruelty free and I’ve been wanting to try their products forever!
Thank you Marie! Unfortunately I don't really experiment with concealer that often - I've been very loyal to Cle de Peau and Chanel for the last few years, so that duo is always in my yearly favourites line up 😄👍 I do also like the Glossier Stretch Concealer pot, Dior Forever Skin Correct and BY TERRY Hyaluronic Hydra-Concealer x
Have you tried the Salt New York Cream tints?? They've taken over my cream blush collection in the past year. I've also heard good things about the cream blushes from Phytosurgence.
I was incredibly disappointed in the performance of the Miracle Balm by Jones Road. I ordered Dusty Rose, and in spite of following the instructions to “break the seal,” I just couldn’t get enough pigment to use as blush. Plus, it was SOOOO sticky! I sent it back. I am a fan of the lip and cheek sticks, though.
Feel free to ignore this suggestion if you're not interested, but I would love to see a video about "products that aren't technically blush but can be used as blush". For example, eyeshadow singles or lipstick or even rosy bronzers. I think that would be pretty cool.
Ooh interesting Sarah, love that idea! I think I spend more time in the 'products that *are* blush but get used on my eyes and lips instead' multitasking world though 😂 x
Thanks for another info-filled video! Just FYI, I *love the SAIE liquid blush in Peachy-but, a little goes a *long way…it’s *super pigmented. #JustSaying. 🤗
Hi there! I have a question I’ve been wanting to ask for a while now. So I’ve been watching your videos about glossier and I’m wondering how do you get those products? From what I’ve heard, glossier doesn’t ship to Australia (I live there as well) Thanks 🙏
Thanks for watching Amy! I have a longer blog post about this on matildaonvideo.com, but I basically used to buy Glossier on trips to the US or got friends to bring some back for me ✈️ x
They have a little '18 months' logo on the bottom Aisha! (But I never really follow expiry dates, I try to keep my products clean and still use them if they look / smell / perform the same) 👍 x
Ooh great question Eleonora! It really depends on the formula and finish, most of all. A product that dries down slightly or has a semi-matte or satin finish will usually last longer than a really dewy formula, regardless of whether it's a liquid or cream ☺️👍 x
I have 2 Tower 28 ones in bright colours. And Colourpop ones, Wet'n'Wild ones, L'Oréal ones (from years ago), a NYC one (R.I.P. New York Color brand), etc., as well as some powder ones. I love blush. I do not contour; rather, "attempt" to "drape". I do not like bronzer on my face. It always looks like mud. On others as well. No matter how much you blend it in-unless you self-tan or sit out in the sun. No thank you. I like my pasty, ghostly self. Blush should be fun and not taken too seriously. Well, tha is my philosophy when it comes to make-up in general. I love bright colours. They make me happy. Make-up should make you happy and be what you want NOT what society wants you to wear!!! So, no brown for me.😚😊💄
They are all brown... isn't blush supposed to look like natural flush? Who blushes brown? Bronzer is a thing but my cheeks would look muddy if I wore these...
