The reason why this was so helpful is, because you just helped me decrease the cost of my new website three times!!! Maaaannn!!! I love you! Lol! Now webdesigners can't bulshit when I'll run projects. :) I loved listening to you as you are fun and entertaining plus you habe a cool accent. Keep up the amazing work!!!

Best video hands down I've seen on HTML and CSS working together without cuts. You're the best. I know CSS and HTML and I wouldn't give all these techniques away just like you have cause It's taken me hours and hours or reading. Highly recommend this video if you're looking for the best html and css tutorial. Anyone should be able to learn the basics of html and css by watching this video, the rest is easy.

Hi Christian, after watching this HTML5 AND CSS3 tutorial, I've made up my mind to create a webpage layout right now, so to say. Thanks a lot for your language skills that I appreciate.You'll be happy to hear that really I'm gonna start writing HTML5 and CSS3 code to create a dummy page as well. I owe to you for this inspiration. :)

If you do web development for a corporation you would now that because of IE html5 and css3 are off the table. There should be some kind of coalition that agrees to make sure that their web apps do not work on IE on purpose.

no coalition needed, just don't test on IE and I guarantee it won't work by the end

Well a lot of you say this is clean code, but actually it is a lot of repeating, a lot of same variables are used, so they could be shrunken into much smaller design frame, what would also lead to simpler modification. Take a look to the side bar, same code used 3 times, in his case he could just write one with 3 classes included. Using same colours over and over, why not to define them in the beginning for easier future modifications? Also the footer is tricky, it is not made to always stay at bottom and this could be solved using the .body class he created in the beginning, since I think he forgot that people with different resolutions will see footer not exactly at the bottom if their browser screen height is bigger than the displayed content. Also in the beginning with the nav, why to use all these paddings and stuff like that, when you can simply knowing nav bar height define a line height for the links. Lastly, I do not know if it is really that smart to define footer inside the content area, what if someone will decide to style the footer attribute afterwards, this will cause a lot of errors in further design. Things like em and i or b and strong tags should be used instead... To sum it you can learn from this, good for fundamentals, but with your own caution, I was also learning this stuff and had to experiment later a lot to see what makes more sense in the code and what is more appropriate. On the other hand... Preprocesors are now in demand... HTML - Jade / CSS - SASS/LESS...

hey I have some question. First one is: In html coding, you created maincontent and content class. I think creating only maincontent is enough. second question is: why did you create body class. You applied styles for "body" tag and body class. I think if you apply for body tag only, its fine. Why do you have to apply style for "body" tag and then again ".body" Can you explain this please?

Is there any practical reason to give the body a class?
@KeepItFresh02
@KeepItFresh02 6 лет назад
yes. You can style a specific page by adding classes to the body. in Wordpress body classes are dynamically generated for the page that you are on. it displays a variety of different classes such as the page id and/or the template name. this tutorial is not Wordpress but its an example of it being done.

As you have tag elements like or , you can also create elements with specific name without using a div class or div id. For exemple you can have , or . You can reference them in CSS only by tag name. mainHeader{ background:red;} or mainHeader li a{font-family:Verdana;}

When I see a title like "Responsive" I expected not to see 50 minutes dealing with colors, radius and beautifying but going straight to the point of "responsive" - which starts at 53:00. Make a content within 5 minutes, make the sidebars and menu bar within the next 5 minutes and then go to the theme "Responsive". Here you can spend time over time. And afterwards if you have time to spend you can show how to make it beautiful. But overall : I learned a lot - so thanks.

Very much enjoyed and learned how to quickly develop a responsive web site using HTML 5 and css3. Best things about your video are: how you presented the material, you made simple changes to the css and immediately showed how that changed the presentation in the browser. I find that to be extremely helpful. Finally, I found it beneficial to type the code in as well. That puts the icing on the cake so to speak, cementing the principles of responsive design into ones memory. The only question that remind for me was, how many media queries do we need in order to be considered a fully responsive design? Will the one suffix? Thanks for a fantastic video.
