Session #21: Using variables to create smart login feature.
In this session I'll walk you through how to use variables in order to pass login username from login page to a landing homepage and display it back to the end-user. You can use the same logic to pass absolutely any information from one page to the next.

Thanks a lot man, I had issues setting a variable and it was your tip on the variable's order (before the open link action) that did the trick ! I feel like a variable god now

Hi, can you please explain to me how can i make condition of : if username or possword of user not exist or user don't have account then it will display an error. Thank you

This is a great tutorial, thank you. Is there a way to push the variable value to a field without the need to go to another page and use on PageLoad? Is it possible to refresh a field in the same page with the new data? Eg when a dynamic panel is closed?

Yes. You just need to add the same behaviour to retrieve the info from a variable to any object/event. E.g. could paste the same code to onclick event on a button. It has to be triggered somehow, via pageload or click etc.

Hey! How do you set variables in Axure 8? I don't have the 'target' option in setting variables. Thanks :)

Hey, if you go on the properties tab and add onclick event it will open dialog box. On the left handside scroll down to 'set variable value' option and then edit it on the right handside. If you don't have any variables defined at that stage just click 'add variable' and can set it from there.

Hey thanks a lot for this tutorial it helps me a lot. But i have a question, my axure 7 does not have the interaction onPageLoad, is it just because the axure is outdated? thanks again for the video.

Glad it's helpful. Not sure about the 7th, can't recall how it was back in that version. Have you tried to unleselect everything - the event is specific to canvas, but not any other element on the page

Hey, use multiple variables or make more conditional checks for other login values

@@vaexperience Sir I am new to axure. If you have uploaded any video explaining this then please share. Though I have tried (seen other videos) earlier also but it was a bit confusing and didn't get the desire output. Thanks!
