Creating Doll Shoes - a simple method

I decided to try creating my own doll shoes, how hard can it be?!
Well is not that herd but depends what pattern are you trying.
Through this video I will show a simple method that I was able to find and follow without an actual pattern or knowledge about sewing.
You will need:
- scissors
- pencil
- paper
- thin cardboard
- PU leather
- hot glue gun
- thread and needle
Disclaimer: I have no technical knowledge about how actual sewing works and my ability to create patters is not developed yet. This is why for me this simple approach is much easier and faster.

Thank you so much for making this tutorial! It's exactly what I was looking for - an easy way to make flats, as I've only just started making tiny clothes and more advanced patterns are way too complicated for me

⁠@@themidnightmousedollhouseit is very challenging, i remember i have try like i was in 15 yrs pld to make barbie shoes, and damn it was a nonstop struggling and every idea i has was like backlash😂 there is always something wrong, not making shoe last, uses of glues, etc😂 its always something not right! Haha and i was almost 2 yrs not making doll shoes n i pick courage to make one again, and my god, its like a battle field😂

Thank you Mirisuru for your feedback 😊 To be honest, is not that difficult ... in theory. But the practice is a bit more trickier. For example, I used a very thin thread which cut through the PU leather. I was lucky with those thinner and more flexible which I shown in the clip :))

Hi Fernanda ☺ I draw everything by hand, I do not have a professionally made pattern but If you would like to I can scan it for you. If you are interested please write me on Facebook or Instagram and I will be able to share with you a pdf file there. In terms of measurements, the sole has 4.2 cm by 1 cm at heel and 1.7 cm at the toes (thicker part ) I simply took the doll foot, draw the shape and then polished a few times up I reached something that fits well with the thickness of the pleather I have.

How do you trace the shoe front?

Hi Reece, I just used the foot to trace the shape, then I adjust it a bit on paper and used chipboard as a sole, to shape the shoe. Now the hardest part was to drag the leather over the sole and keep enough over the foot...I had to fiddle a bit by creating tension under the sole, using thread and hot glue. Another tricky part was the pattern itself, for this one I had many attempts until I found the right length and shape. I think you can use washi tape or masking tape to create the foot shape, same as o creating a corset. However, when I created these shoes, I did not knew the tape method.
