Legendary producer BangLaDesh gives a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the backing track for Lil Wayne's smash single "6 Foot 7 Foot," the first single from the 2011 album The Carter IV.
The Atlanta, Georgia-based producer first gained recognition in 2000 for his collaboration with Ludacris. He then went on to produce successful recordings for other major acts, including Beyoncé, Petey Pablo, Kelis, and more recently Ke$ha and Nicki Minaj.
In 2008, he created the backing track for Lil Wayne's huge hit, "A Milli."

Damn, where do I get an 808 that sounds LIKE THAT? is that custom made? The bass fucking slaps you in the face.

I usually slap some compression on my drums and bass to get them to hit harder. I know it's been 8 years but maybe this'll help someone.

Yeah he's just "pushing buttons" on the drum pad, but he's still a producer or musician whatever you wanna call it cus you still have to understand pro tools, ableton, fl studio, any DAW. After, you understand the DAW, you have to understand the vsts and you have to know how to make a synth. After you make a synth then you have to have some musical sense and play the piano to make midi for the synth you just made. After you're happy with your drums and sounds you gotta mix and master. No talent?

bit of a late reply but songs are mostly if not entirely made the majority of the time through the human being and not the machine. The machine, like the drum pad, and/or DAW is usually just what finally produces/edits the end result of what your thinking

I don't think T.I. would have taken this song to the same level. Doesn't mean that Wayne is better, it just means T.I.s company and his audience want more than just a dope drum beat to sell his songs.

If u ask me, this beat could have been cleaned up a bit. For example, a little less distortion on the bass, and pretty much everything. Also, the vocals were a bit harsh in the 3-6 kHz range. It's still one hell of a beat and of course Weezy murdered the f*ck out of it as always!!
@smithms2006

I should've made it clear that I wasn't talking about what lil buddy was doing here with it (though, I'm sure that somebody is in a club somewhere breakdancing to whatever he made from it), I was talking about the 6'7 beat in general (that beat is bad!!!).
