Awesome wheat paste art in the podcast room! When I first read the piece from the constitution "all treaties made, or which shall be made, "Under the authority of the United States." Shall be the supreme law of the land." I thought to myself.....what an ironic statement to be made when every treaty made has been broken by the so called united states.

Great show and idea to link art with LandBack. Another idea : how to remove fear of the US government and efficiently struggle against despondency due to oppressive US legal and economic systems that keep so many Indigenous and Non-Indian people from fully supporting the LandBack movement?

I'm confused as to why NDN Collective is structured like a traditional corporation with a CEO who gets paid a lot more than others and is getting funding from Jeff Bezos. The structure of this group seems like a charity where a few people at the top of an organization decide how their money and land will be used and what struggles to partake in rather than a democratic, peoples-led movement. I do enjoy the podcast though.

it's a nonprofit, yeah? 501c3 to accept charitable tax deductible donations. they don't have a CEO. they have a president, treasurer, and secretary, as required with all nonprofits. plus potential board. Bezos, how?

@@SolarpunkSeed So it's not a collective then. That's a shame. Non-profits aren't very empowering of people, it's just those in charge that write the agenda.

What are you defining as a "collective"? They are clearly into the idea of being a collective, it's in their name. Nonprofits are simply a legal framework, with a number of fantastic very real benefits for public goods and support for activist goals. Including charitable tax writeoffs for donors in taking donations, assets, and even land. As well as potential property tax exemptions. There is a huge array of possibility and variety in nonprofits. Including having large boards, councils, and member groups involved in transparent and democratic decision making. Specifics can be laid out and customized in the nonprofit bylaws, including opening up certain things in various ways. @@RayyanKesnan

The landback movement is a admirable effort but I dont think that the white man will ever give your land back at least in that shape or form that would be suitable for you. No. you have to take a different approach. The aboriginals of australia have a belief that they came from the dreamtime and they are singing the land into being. This is what the ghost dance preached by Wovoka was about and this is how we should approach this. Bring the old spirit back and start creating a new reality. Invite me in. I will be there.
