I have, but they always have blue paint on the ends. We used to keep the really nice ones to store food on in the backroom.

I used to make stuff out of pallets and those are hard to get ahold of. Usually the spacing is further apart. When I did get them I would make benches because the boards are so close together. I also used to get oak ones that were 6'x12' and 6x15

slightly used? They are brand new. Also they don't look like standardised Pallets. European EPAL Pallets look very different, but then againt the Video probably wasn't made in Europe. The 3 Large Beams still look too weak to handle heavy loads.

Yep. I've gone around collecting pallets in my neighborhood for a couple of projects and none were as new and nice as this guy's pallets.

Does it really matter? Why don't you go and find the worst, battered pallet you can find. And build one from that just to keep you happy...

There are cheaper alternatives to doing this without the exact tools used in the video, I hope it works out well for you

You can get good decent pallets from home improvement stores or garden shop stores. I got some good ones from Garden Shop and they were almost new.

Anyone who works with wood knows those are newly made.Who the heck do you think watches a woodworking show.

This is a great video that shows how to make something awesome whether you have good pallets or not. It doesn’t matter which ones you use. .... BTW ... You CAN find pallets like these at Lumber Liquidators.

I get decent ones from a local TSC or similar company.. have made 18"x24" crates with lids..were an instant smash @a theme party..

Pine pallet, the back of the pallet is cut shorter by the same thickness as the reinforcement timber used. The part that he screws down on the non cut end of the pallet, so if you use 50mm thick timber cut one end of the pallet that will join up to that pallet 50mm shorter than the front...the front side cut of the pallet is the same thickness as the pallet plus the reinforcement so for example pallet is 200 thick plus 50mm reinforcement equals 250mm longer the front cut of one edge of the pallet must be cut. Hope it makes sense, and you have fun building one.

Girls were not ALLOWED to take shop when I went to school. We had to make disgusting tuna casserole and sew an apron that no one ever used. I wanted to take shop.....

I remember those days having been in highschool in the 70's!!👍 And darn right you are, they were INVALUABLE lessons. Every male should learn to cook & do laundry-- *properly* ,not just learn to *fix* the washer. All women, especially single, should learn basics like changing a flat, the oil, etc before embarking on a roadtrip alone. They may learn everything they could want to know about computers these days, which is useful for these times. But so can we! But our generation *also* know how to cook, clean, bake, garden, sew basics, grocery shop in person not just online, basically we learned what to do to get out of our parents basements & take care of *ourselves* !👍 Btw this young lad is good isn't he?😊 🇨🇦☘️⚜️

I totally agree. The pallets are difficult to come by. Most that you will find are made from crappy pieces of wood. I would have screwed the bar top from underneath. A nice staining will definitely be done followed by a wipe on poly. Otherwise, yes, interesting build.

@@NoviceDIYerNoel When I was working at a hardware store, I got a few piece of Cypress Pine that they use for packing the Cypress pickets. The cover boards were about 25mm thick and about 250mm wide and pretty good condition if you sand them. Cypress has an interesting look to it.

@@NoviceDIYerNoel The closest would be Cypress floor boards which aren't too bad. Another good idea for bartops is bamboo flooring. Bonus - its waterproof!

They are good quality pallets you don't see very often. Some establishments would give them for free but not the kind of pallets used here. 😊
