Song for song pound for pound the best damn band in the land! It's a shame their hit making run only lasted about five years but so many good songs in such a short time.
As far as I'm aware this is the only footage of the band playing Ramble Tamble that exists on the internet, possibly my favourite song of all time. That section at 5:37 where the camera pans around Doug brings out some emotions in me I can't describe, it's almost melancholic.
I know this feeling. I've been listening to Creedence since I was 12. I'm 25 now and spent most part of my life being a fan of absolutely every song they recorded, undoubtedly. The most acclaimed ones, and the most criticized ones. Some scenes about them playing gets me in a very emotional way. Long live to Creedence music!
Cosmos factory was my first album that i bought. There was in that time a concert in antwerp unfortunately i was to young to go.I am so happy to see this video.
ITS AMAZING THAT THE BUILDING STRUCTURE ON 5 TH ST . IN BERKELEY HAS NOT CHANGED WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE FRONT WHERE THEY PRACTICED , FANTASY RECORDS WAS AT 10TH & PARKER CLOSE IN PROXIMITY !!! IT WAS A DIFFERENT WORLD BACK IN 1969 -70 , 71 !!
This is GREAT!! I loved my big brother's Cosmo's Factory album when I was three! I've gone to ery one of John's concerts in the New England area. He can finally play the CCR classics that HE WROTE. Thanks SO much for this video!!
My Uncle John could ALWAYS play his songs, just didn't want to cuz he didn't want Saul and Fantasy to make any more $$$ of him after stealing his songs and publishing..
Es fantástico ver a la mejor banda de todos los tiempos, ensayando y suenan tan bien en vivo como en las grabaciones de estudio.Creedence lo más grande!!!
Interesting observation: Although Born On The Bayou is dubbed with the studio version, they are playing the song but John is using his Les Paul Custom that he always used for the D tuned songs like Proud Mary, Bad Moon Rising , Ramble Tamble, etc. Born On The Bayou was normally played on his Rickenbacker 325 in standard tuning at that point in time.
Correct me if i’m wrong, but i’ve heard of how he had a Les Paul that was tuned to E that he used a lot during the 1971-1972 tours. Maybe that’s what he’s using in this video? Because the way he plays the chords makes it seem like he had a guitar tuned to E on here
Cool...thanks for posting this. Shame CCR couldn't have held on for a few more years...the amount of stellar music they put out in such a short time was phenomenal. John just turned 78, and it would be awesome if the three remaining members could manage to put the past behind them for at least one last get-together.
I do know that the 3 remaining guys have seemed to have made peace with eachother since Doug confirmed it in an interview back in 2020. Performance wise though, probably not as they’re both enjoying retirement from being on the road.
@@MozillaFireFox1967 It's easy for them to say that they've made peace with each other, but I don't believe it. Talk is cheap. If that were true, they'd play together again.
Jeanie Ruter - what kind of logic even is that? Just because they’re on good terms does not automatically mean that they’ll play together. Even then, Doug and Stu have stopped performing since 2020, and i genuinely think they’re fine being retired and don’t feel like doing a live show possibly ever again, especially after doing 25 years of constant touring.
@@MozillaFireFox1967 You're kidding! Right? Wow. You don't for one minute think that they wouldn't jump at the chance to play with John again after all these years?!! FYI, Doug and Stu have never had a problem with John. It was John who had the bug up his a$$ against them all along just because John's wounded pride wouldn't let him face them after he signed away the rights to his own songs. John had nobody to blame but John. Now, he's finally got the rights back and that's a good thing. He might even make some real $$ off of it. He can now knock himself out. Whoop-dee-doo.
Jeanie Ruter - i mean, maybe. I’m not saying that it would be dumb if they did reunite, trust me i’m not that stupid, but they don’t have to if they don’t have it the feeling of doing it. Besides, i would much rather have them be on good terms before they focus on any reunion.

I do have this video in 1988, internet not exist in 1988. I do have several CCR film on VHS.form....and expecially l saw Creedence 3 times.very fantastic band.
Peccato che sia finita così.. certo che john senza tom stewart e doug non sarebbe riuscito a creare quel sound unico dei ccr. E poi dite quello che volete.
