Fun fact: the two skeletons accompaning the final boss aren't invincible. Actually, each of them have *twice* the final boss health.

I'm surprised that the magic using enemy isn't in the arcade game. It seems like the perfect arcade boss to make kids use up their quarters.

I always liked the arcade ending, but I was a strange kid who wished this kind of thing would happen for real whenever I beat a game.

I’ve been wondering about this: if Death Adder took over Yuria and stole the Golden Axe, why does Gilus Thunderhead have a Golden Axe too?

Ahh Golden Axe, the game where you had magic and dragons and the mightiest weapon of all, the Dwarven charging Headbutt.

And yet his family, Death Subtractor, Death Multiplier, and Death Divider never attempt revenge. It's all good, understandable if after 79 of these things the label of 'creepy bad' feels a bit restrictive. If I may offer some suggestions of endings I always found creepy and bad that you never covered: Bad ending of Demon's Crest, the Yuzu route in Devil Survivor.

That's so cool that in the arcade version, Death Adder is a pile of snakes that form into a man, cause a Death Adder is a type of snake.

As a kid, I always thought the blue bandit enemy in this game (seen at 2:09) was a giant squirrel. He has weird buck teeth and his laugh sounds like chirping noises. I thought the bag was a big fluffy tail.

If possible that Bandai Namco able to pull off a Season 3 of Soul Calibur VI, then I nominate the trio of Ax, Tyris Flare and Thunderhead and/ or the final boss Death Adder as the playable guest characters.

This is probably one of the last games where you would want the characters from it to jump out of the screen and into the real world

You know what would make a creepy good/bad ending? Klonoa: Door to Phantomile. The ending to that is an absolute gut punch.

Maybe you should change the series name to "Extraordinary Endings", which would encapsulate all of the old "ending series", creepy bad, creepy good, crazy bizarre, etc.

Maybe make a new series called "random endings" and keep creepy bad endings as a separate thing?

2:17 Oh god! I hadn't noticed this before but the snakes are crawling to that pile of dead bodies that form together to create Death Adder! And when he forms the bodies explode! Look at 2:20 you can see chunks of mutilated human heads and limbs and stuff scattering towards the screen!!

I think that if you haven't already, you should cover the different endings for the arcade games Gunbird 1 and 2. Those endings range from hilarious to extremely bizarre.

This pretty much marks the ten year point of creepy bad endings, which is why it's kinda funny that it's not creepy bad endings

I always loved it too when video games showed the cast of all the characters in the closing credits. Bonk's Adventure and Super Mario 2 were my personal favorites, and Paper Mario TTYD had shadows of all the characters walking in line, which was both cool and a little creepy.

I believe the nighttime stages where you're kicking the crap out of the thieves count as levels, that's why you see the odd numbers.

The Arcade version of Altered Beast also has a weird ending, where everyone was just acting for a movie, and their faces are censored.

the first time i played this game was the sega version and i remember pass throw all that levels includind the very last boss with the skeletons then i had the oportunity to played again and i coud'nt beat the first boss and i was like "how the hell did i beat this when i was a just a kid?" 😂😂

2:15: Actually, according to some versions of the script, they weren't supposed to be snakes (which is odd since you'd think that'd make sense; I mean, he _is_ called "Death ADDER," and adders are a type of snake); instead, Death Adder was comprised of the _maggots that nested inside of the corpses of the 3 heroes slaughtered kinsfolk_ . Metal as all hell, but more then a little disgusting and... intense for younger players. This was because Death Adder wasn't merely an evil warrior-wizard wielding the Golden Axe; he was purportedly a Necromancer (explaining the presence of all the Skele-Lads throughout the various levels) who had been slain before, but who could never _truly_ die, so long as he had his prized axe and so long as he had minions to resurrect him/ supply him with corpses to reconstitute himself from. Not sure if this story is "true," but I've had multiple people tell me this, too many for this to merely be made up, as well as various sites dedicated to explaining localization differences between original Japanese dialogue and Anglicized/ Americanized Dialogue (if it is though, it's probably some kind of creepypasta or urban legend).

I could never get past Stage 7. I knew that I was so close to beating the game every time and I still haven't done it. Then again I haven't tried in years. Time to dust off the old Genesis again it would seem.

I played this final boss...yeah, I HAD to save state in order to beat this guy. I went most of the game without losing any lives and I STILL had to cheat a little bit just to beat this jerk... Also, the dragon does NOT insta-kill; it does 2.5 bars of damage, which is still BS...

Far Cry 5 had a creepy good ending

An amazon, a dwarf and a man in a blue speedo team up to commit genocide against a clan and force the last survivor to play wordball with them afterwards. The last, defeated hero runs screaming into the sunset as the trio of death call down the literal end of time.

The Arcade version has bad ending. The true last boss is inside the castle.
