I finally made my certificate,, Yeah.. It took me two weeks and many hours to make it because I watched the videos and thought I could do it!! I had help from several of your team helpers. I always had help from them and I appeciate it. I will continue on now being more diligent about your teaching, time and effort.
I was overwhelmed by my new Maker but have found so much amazing information in each of the 3 videos. Thank you for taking the time to make these. I can’t stop looking and smiling at my new certificate. I feel like a child who has received a sticker for being well behaved. I can’t wait to watch more of your videos.
I just opened my Cricut Maker today and played around with design space which was fun - I made a couple of things with felt for a project I’m working on. Then I found your videos. Just loved them - you have a great way of demonstrating the maker and your tutorials are easy to understand. Thank you so much. I am so glad I found these kickoff video’s. I was nearly ready to sell my brand new cricut maker as I coukd not work out how to do anything with it. I live in Australia & knowone I know holds hands on classes (sad face) Im now looking forward to using my machine. Now that I know how to colabirate it, as it wasnt cutting right & I know how to use design space on my laptop. I cant use the phone as its too small to see properly whet I am doing. I learn something new with every video you do! I dont use desktop app often but I love learning ways I can use it! It definitely has more options that I am not aware of, like holding shift and it moves the object by degrees and helps adjust it to a straighter object when turning! 🥳

Thank you so much for your kind words! Yes you can use your Joy vinyl on the Explore you just need to make sure you use a mat! When you keep your machine on Custom, you always select the exact material you are using right after you click "Make It" in Design Space. That is the best way to get the correct cut! 💕

Thank you, Jennifer, for these great videos. My wife let me get a Maker, as an early Father's Day gift (plus tools and materials, of course), and I'm finding your channel to be the most helpful. I just now did this project, alongside your video, and it was thankfully pretty easy to get a hang of and complete. DS has been updated a few times since this video, and they changed the Linetype section (now it's "operation", and the submenu is slightly different also), so there was a minor hiccup in getting that part down, but I figured it out and got it done. Now, on to the next lesson... thanks again!

I want to tell you, first day good, 2nd day everything ok, til i decide to install the new printer with WiFi, i will say I spent over 3 hours, i watched RU-vid’s videos, i was going to go to the store and returned after i try everything, when i decided to lift the top and whale everything start working, then i wanted to use my mouse, another problem, i have to take it out and set back to my laptop, well i finish with a headache, now today i follow everything to the end yo do the certificate, and when you say it has to read draw in your signature and what we right on the certificate is says cut, try to change impossible, i will try again, I’m not given up, last year i order Cricut coach playbook digital and hard copy, thanks for your videos
I could not figure out how to get free hand book. The only thing I saw was $20. I watch the two videos and am on the third one. Great videos very clear and informative. Should have watch them before shopping. Haven’t got my Cricut yet and bought all kinds of stuff. Already overwhelmed. This is my forth machine. I get so overwhelmed I never use them. I am hoping I will actually learn my machine inside out and make lots of stuff. I am an avid card maker without machines and hoping to move into htv vinyl also. I have been very afraid to mess with these machines so much so every time I do it is so trying I give up. This time it will be different. Thanks so much for your videos. Hello Jennifer. I’m an absolute newbie to Creative Design Space. I have the monthly subscription and are amazed at the amount of excellent projects and designs available. However my biggest issue is being able to see all the canvas on my iPad. I don’t seem to see all that you do when I watch your videos. Am I doing something wrong? PS. My cricut does not have that writing filter you chose, so I just chose a different font. I noticed many of the options you use are not the same for my Maker 3 and makes it harder to follow especially because I'm a beginner. Do you offer Maker 3 tutorials?
Tammie, the differences aren't due to the different machines being used but rather the version of Design Space you have. Make sure your Design Space application is up to date.

Flatten is primarily used for print & cut projects -- you can flatten a multi-layer design into a single layer design that can be printed then cut around with your Cricut. :)
Hi Jennifer, Just finished Video 3. I’m noticing that the settings are different in the newest version of DS from what you have in this video and I got somewhat confused with some of the settings. My top card ended up bigger than the bottom part and didn’t cut, but the writing was there. Not sure what I did wrong. Maybe I was suppose to check both sizes and didn’t. Not sure why it didn’t cut. If you see this maybe you know. Otherwise, I’ll have to take another look and try again and send you an email if I can’t figure it out.
There is a thickness difference as well as quality. Most card stock is 65lb that you find at your local craft stores and on Cricut's website. We have a blog post that might help you troubleshoot here: jennifermaker.com/cricut-cutting-problems-tips-cleaner-cuts/
How do I know if my version of Design Space is up to date? I'm using the version that was recommended when I opened and connected my maker 3 to my desktop and laptop.

ive had mine for yrs! but ive only done the "starter card" kit it came with! BECAUSE i have tried EVERYTHING and can not get the "free" images to come up, i followed step by step as u did, but when i hit ownership, the only thing that comes up is "purchased" and "uploaded", which r empty..i am so ready to just quit this very expensive darn thing!,.i was so excited about having this that i overhauled my spare bedroom into a very nice and FULLY STOCKED craft room, for basically nothing!!,.uhg!!!.. :( i really really want to make letters, to spell out names, is something that simple and generic going to cost $ ?
Newbie here.......loved your tutorial. Two questions, I am using a Cricut Explore 2 on a Mac laptop. I did not have the font Cricut Alphabet. Also when I was done, it would not let me save it. I kept getting "your project cannot be saved...contact member care". Help!
That error message is specific to Design Space and an issue Cricut will need to help you with. To see the Cricut Alphabet font, make sure the check box for kerned fonts in your font list is unchecked. I create my SVGs in Adobe Illustrator but I'm not sure if that was what you were asking me. Sometimes it is best to take a break from it watch it again later for more clarity. ❤️

Hello! I am getting a message asking me if I have printed before the design will cut out. What am I doing wrong? I have not seen where you have printed anything first before cutting it out?
