Why do you wash the rolled oats ? Also the soaking water is normally used for grinding, why do you rinse the soaked oats n dals ? I wash the dals well before cooking

Hi mam, im from Malaysia have a question. Can i opt the kadalei paruppu with other dals ? Like yellow or black konda kadalei ? Also can i omit this recipe by not adding kadelei paruppu ?
