I did it with the 6.5mm it's a little loose but I didn't glue down the ribbon so I can tighten when needed. Can I use the same yarn on one of your bag patterns? I'd like to have a matching spring/ summer bag. 🤗🥰 Thanks Crystal.

@@shannongillespie4564 I also made it with a six and a half millimeter crochet hook and it is on the loose side. I also used for weight I love this cotton yarn for all the sections that are the same diameter for the vertical section and then all the sections that increase in diameter used a different yarn that is made with 75% wool and 25% eucalyptus but is a lightweight brown color. The label doesn't say but I think it's a lightweight three, maybe a light for weight. But it is a little bit lighter than the I love this cotton.

@@musicalatv What's the brand name of the wool+eucalyptus yarn? I usually stray from wool. I have Eczema 🤪 so I try to avoid fibers that my increase that itchy feeling or doesn't wick away moisture easily. Yet the eucalyptus combo peeks my interest. I can always gift it or donate it right😁👍🏾👍🏾

I made one of these over a year ago for a trip. I traveled everywhere in that hat around the country. Well, it blew out the window without me knowing. I shed a tear for the memories and made another INE. Thanks for making the making easy. I love the stuff you have taught me. Thank you.

I think that might help my issue that I am having with this pattern! I am having a hard time getting everything to lay flat! I am super jazzed to be starting on this and hoping I can get it done to wear in the summer months and shade mah face!

So glad you clarified that because my 6.5mm is a K. My J is a 5.75mm. Since I crochet so loosely, I think I will use that one. Not sure why I can’t seem to find my 6.0mm hook.

Beautiful. As a tiny hint: you could use tiny jewelers pliers or needle nose pliers a d create a tiny loop at end of one wire & feed other end thru that loop & create a tiny loop on 2nd end, which links both loops together. That way you won't have pokey ends coming out. The bling would look good as a choker too, very extra!

I made this hat BUT I didn’t make the brim super large. The yarn is sooooooo amazing and I was able to shape my hat and wear it like a fedora!! Crystal!!!! You have to see it!!!! It’s PERFECT!!!

Thanks for Sharing! I plan to make this using 2 yarns held together- Truboo (bamboo soft!) and Loops and Threads cotton creme - for my daughter in law who recently started chemo- I hope it will be soft enough for her head. I might have to reduce the stitch count so it doesnt get too big. Stay strong and best wishes for you.

I love this hat but I have a BIG head. So I continued the increase stitches on the crown and shortened the height of my hat. Now I have created a problem, where my hat does not have the shape of your 'sun hat'. Here is where I took a thin ribbon and ran it through the half double crochet stitches twice. Using these to tighten the crown of my 'sun hat' to my HEAD.. This gave me the confidence to finish the brim (my favorite part of the hat). Hmm, I lost your video when I reached the last rows so I made it wider the it should be. Then I received the wire and made another row of half double crochets with the wire. OH, i forgot to mention that the HDC are in the crab style so I made the finished edge with the wire in a HDC. But I love it The hat band will be added now with a ribbon of my daughter-in-laws choice. For I am now making these hats for everyone. I listened to your directions about buying more than the yard needed. I bought 30 yards of millinery wire, so lets start crocheting.
