Crochet Button Up Neck Warmer Written Pattern:
Materials Required
1 Ball of Red Heart Boutique Treasure - 3 oz. (100gm), 151 yds (138m)
6.0mm (US J-10) Crochet Hook
Yarn Needle
3 Buttons measuring 2cm (3/4 inch) wide
Sewing Needle
Cotton Thread
Gauge: 15 sts and 8 rows in pattern = 4 inches (10cm). Check your gauge. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.
One Size Fits Most. Measures 6¼ wide x 29" long (16 x 73.5 cm)
Written Instructions:
STITCH PATTERN
Ch a multiple of 7 + 3 or Ch 24 loosely.
Row 1 (wrong side):
Sc in 2nd ch from hook,
ch 2, skip next 2 ch, sc in next ch, *ch 3, skip
next ch, sc in next ch, ch 4, skip next 4 ch, sc
in next ch; repeat from * across to last 5 ch,
ch 3, skip next ch, sc in next ch, ch 2, skip
next 2 ch, sc in last ch, turn.
Row 2:
Ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc in next ch-2
space, ch 2, sc in next ch-3 space, ch 2, *4
dc in next ch-4 space, ch 2, sc in next ch-3
space, ch 2; rep from * across, ending with 2
dc in last ch-2 space, dc in last sc, turn.
Row 3:
Ch 1, sc in first dc, ch 2, skip next 2
dc, sc in next ch-2 space, ch 3, sc in next ch-2
space, *ch 4, sc in next ch-2 space, ch 3, sc in
next ch-2 space; repeat from * across, ending
with ch 2, skip next 2 dc, sc in top of ch-3
turning ch, turn.
Repeat Rows 2-3 for pattern. Work in stitch pattern until piece measures
29" (73.5) from beginning, ending with Row 2
of pattern.
Fasten/finish off. Weave in yarn tails with a yarn needle.
FINISHING
Sew 3 buttons evenly spaced along foundation-chain end of scarf. Fold scarf so
that foundation chain end lies alongside last 6" (15.2 cm) of scarf (see photo on the printable instructions). Button, using ch-2 spaces along edge of scarf as buttonholes.
