Crochet Scarf Hat Tutorial (Great Chemo Cap) 

Lisa, I have collected over 100 scarves throughout the years. I saved this video a few years ago. I did something similar and I am loving it. I will start making some soon for X-mas gifts. Thank you for this beautiful pattern.

Thank you so much for this hat scarf tutorial. I love it. You are easy to follow and the hat when done is gorgeous 😍 I made one for my sweet sister in Christ who has cancer. She just has a mastectomy done last week and she told me the scarf is long enough to cover the missing breast and she loves that. Hi I am undergoing chemotherapy at the moment and losing hair comes with it. I love this hat and would love to crochet it for me as a summer hat. Can you please advise me on what kind of yarn to buy and if I need to make amendments. I am new to crochet and don’t know much about yarns. I'm using Heartland. Calls for a J hook. I know you went down to a H. Should I do the same?

Do you have the written pattern for this hat?

The written instructions tell me to join each round with a slip stitch but you are not doing that in the video. Am I doing it wrong by doing a slip stitch in each round? The instructions don’t say to do a chain stitch after each slip stitch. I’m a bit confused.

I used an H hook and when I made the loop round it was only 1.25 inches tall. Should I use bigger hook or make the loops taller?
