It's strangely comforting to hear him talk about rays, knowing that he wouldn't dream of blaming the ray for it instinctively protecting itself when the worst happened. How he talks about making the mistake with the reef sharks is exactly how he'd explain his fate with the stingray, his fault for miscalculating and completely his fault for upsetting it.

it's important we listen to how steve talks about rays, and remember his love for animals, despite what happened in the end.

Knowing how he died makes some sequences around the rays difficult to watch... RIP
