I admire how Mauro kept his cool. He handled a very uncomfortable situation with good grace, or good grief, depends on how you look at it.

I've heard his voice before but never really knew who Mauro is/was. After seeing this so many years later, holy sh*t, mad respect to the guy for 1) professionally taking the blame and trying to de-escalate when he wasn't wrong and 2) having the massive balls to continuously face a (jokingly) angry Cro Cop. The guy was willing to die for his work/craft.

That was great. I remember going to Pride 28 in Japan when I was around 21 years old and staying in the Hilton with all the fighters. Every time I got on the elevator there was Wanderlei Silva, Mark Hunt, or some other larger than life fighter. It was right at the height of Prides greatness. One of my most vivid memories was being on the elevator with Mark Hunt and that dude chewing louder than I've ever heard anyone in my life. He chews like a fucking horse. Of course I kept my mouth shut 🤣
