**FYI you get about 175 shots per magazine. So the QR Mag can be internally reloaded 7 times before the Co2 should be replaced. 12 internal reloads overall.

Well good news and bad news. The high capacity mag that I received was great at first, but after the 6th pair of CO2 cartridges the left(first) side would no matter what, leak immediately and continuously until frozen solid empty. This really seems to me to be a design issue. I also have two 25rd mags and they also had a failure. Good news I contacted Crosman and spoke to an awesome customer service representative named Chuck! He understood all the issues and was probably the best phonecall I've ever had with any company ever! Emailed me a shipping label to send all three mags back. I should receive the replacements on Aug 6th. I have always used the pellet oil tip as you also encourage people to do.

@@joseglenn20 This is common in most Crossman CO2 rifles.. Leakage can be reduced by putting a drop of pellgun oil on top of CO2 carrtridge before inserting and not screwing the CO2 cartridge tight. Screw in until you release gas if you screw it tight you compress and damage the gasket that keeps the gas in. You can also screw it in and back it off half turn without leakage.

Exactly! These magazines are pure junk! And Crosman would not stand behind mine when I tried to get a warranty. I had tried everything that they said to and nothing worked.

Thank you for showing us your shooting cart and some of it's features. Seeing your setup, in earlier videos, inspired me to try and make up some larger pellet traps. Mine are nothing compared to yours but it gives me some flexibility when it comes to plinking. My homemade setup combined with the store bought pellet traps has improved my shooting experience. I found some large wooden boxes. For each box I backed them with some metal, at an angle, hung some heavy cloth, in front of the metal, and then made up some pans, for the bottom, to catch the pellets. Maybe someday I will make a better setup. This is an awesome magazine. My focus right now is pellet guns. The Sig Sauer MCX / MPX 30 round magazines are a lot of fun. Wish they could figure out how to load 300 rounds of pellets into a magazine quickly and easily. Keep up the good work!

The stock mag is the only thing I didn’t like about the Crosman R1. The BB loader wasn’t horrible if you use WD 40 on it but getting the CO2 bottles in were a pain because the door on the mag was a pain to open. Looks like they made the swing door easy on this which has sold me.

Hi Bror, that cart is over 5 years old. I use to shoot at night a lot and that works perfectly. A few years ago I upgraded the back plate to steel. I had heavy duty aluminum but the rifles damaged that over time. Occasionally I will spray paint the back plate and I had a few amateurs shoot my sliding tub at the bottom. Fortunately, those concrete mixing tubs are cheap. Stay Healthy and safe!

@@AirgunDetectives All good over here. Hopefully you too!😊👍 Yea. It is good to have a decent plate behind. My trap that I mostly use has a separate 3mm stainless plate that is bolted within the trap. Can replace it if needed - but I guess that won't be for a while since mostly shoot just pistols at it. Still not even a decent dent in it since it is in an 45° angle. I have just a thick wooden backstop for my break barrel rifle shooting - which is very rare though. Mostly just done about 8" in size traps with 45° angled backs. Two of them are installed upon paint buckets that store up all used ammo. Pellet and a BB bucket.. Did once a resettable (with a rope) trap of sheet metal with 6 round drop-down targets in a row. About 2.2" diameter plates. Fun to sometimes shoot with pellet pistols at it. Also often shot at with my Sig MCX.. Been shooting my DPMS now at a 12" deep wooden box filled with sheets of cardboard and a metal plate in my he bottom. Just taped the paper target onto the box. Had to do that bigger box to be more sure to catch all the BBs in my backyard since noticed my DPMS shooting off-target recently with my new suppressor. Screwing on the big suppressor made the outer barrel move around a bit. Just now fixed that thing by installing a small o-ring between the outer barrel and the hole in the front of the handguard. Sits firm now. Had the whole upper receiver apart while being at it. Wiped off all internal dirt and cleaned thoroughly the inner barrel. Interested to see if all is perfect now. But gonna see that later on. It is apparently 1.30am now and I probably oughta go to bed..

Great video and review of the Crosman BB guns, John. You are one ingenious airgunner designing you personal pelllet / target trap. Very nice it even has storage underneath for your targets and maybe a small shop-vac, HAHA. This review of the new magazine prompted me to go back and watch your previous full review of these Crosman BB pistols/rifles. Did you find an easy way to fix the heavy triggers? Half the 11 lb weight would be much better. I hope Philipe at Velocity Outdoor sends you more new products to review in the future!!! Have you tried semi-auto firing the entire mag? … ( just to make sure the QR mag is loading 25 bb’s at a time and not 18,19, or 20?)… I’m assuming counting 22 or 23 bb’s coming out of the barrel in 1.1 seconds is a little difficult to keep track of? Ha, Ha! Here is my experience so far: I received my DPMS SBR two days ago ( from Amazon) and spent (waisted) 5 or 6 CO2’s because the left valve was leaking like crazy! (I always place a small drop of PelGun oil on the cartridge tips too!) I was a little late researching the gun (as I had already placed my order). I found these mags had a common problem on the first production runs a few years ago ( and apparently not entirely sorted out yet as I can testify to (so far).I immediately called Crosman and they are sending me a replacement mag! Luckily, I ordered the QR mag from Amazon at the same time as the DPMS, but the QR mag just arrived today. Both cartridges sealed perfectly to the QR mag without any hiss at all! I was firing in semi auto (in order to zero in a BUG-Buster scope), and the best luck I’ve had is 22 shots! Sometimes only 20, 19, 18, 17, or 16 bb’s are getting loaded. There are little windows on the side of the QR mag marked … 10 …15 … 20 … and 25, … (that supposedly show the bb count), but I find them pretty useless unless I shine a small LED flashlight into each window. I never have seen a bb in the 25 window yet but I’ve only shot between 400-500 BB’s so far. It’s 27 degrees today (in Ohio) so my CO2’s aren’t exactly co-operating! I’m only shooting in semi-auto mode, and only taking one shot about every 3 or 4 seconds! I’m lucky to get 20 shots off before my DPMS refuses to shoot! Sometimes as little as 7 or 8 BB’s before she gives up! Then it’s back inside for a 4 or 5 minute warmup and try again! I haven’t check the fps with a chrono yet (Brrrr), but I can see all the BB’s have a pretty nasty left hook leaving the barrel and before hitting the target (at 30 feet). I’ve only used Daisy Premium Grade BB’s so far. (I have Umarex Hornady Black Diamonds coming soon). I will admit, even with the hook to the left, the shot placements are pretty consistent (considering it’s a smooth-bore BB gun! In conclusion, I’d just like to say, having watched 30 or 40 hours of BB and Pellet gun videos reviews on RU-vid, I find your videos are on my Top Two List and I keep coming back to your channel because you share the most facts and knowledge in a consistent manner and in a condensed amount of time so I’ve gotta click those “Like” and “Subscribe” buttons!

I really appreciate you tuning in and taking the time to leave such a detailed comment. Wait til you try that DPMS in a 70 degree plus day....I found the Daisy or Umarex Zinc BB's work well. It's a great idea but with every other reservoir style BB magazine they are noisy as hell. i take mine camping with me all the time, not to hunt but a deterrent. The sound it makes in full auto is incredible and will scare off just about anything in my area but if I need to move quick and quiet I want to know that I can and that's just impossible with the reservoir type mag. I've even quit using the speed loader that came with it for same reason. I don't want to sound like I have maraca strapped to me, if it had some kind of tension mechanism inside that kept pressure on top of BBs so they would stay quiet it would be perfect until then I'll stick with the individual 25 round magazines just because they're silent. Great video BTW, hopefully they'll come out with one soon

There is still a loading issue ... after 200 rounds the CP2 are pretty well spent, so you have to change those...and with this thing 200 rnds is about 9 seconds ! With individual magazines there is less CO2 exchanges AND they have time to warm back up and rebuild pressure. ... that being said, these are still cool magazines !!... I have 4 of these so I swap them out each time like the olds ones, but when it's time to reload them, it is a LOT FASTER !!

I would love to get one full auto air rifle. The thing I'm afraid of is they might start making these illegal or they might start making you register pellet rifles. Especially with what's going on now. I have a good collection of rifles and shotguns but air rifles are a asset to any collection. Silence is golden in some cases. That's why I have two recurve bows and plenty of arrows. I'm still pretty good with them as well. I ordered the side mount bipod. Well one of my daughter's did for father's day. Great video thanks.

I called three Gun stores in my area not one has any shotguns completely sold out. Not even a 20 gauge. It seems pellet rifles are the only game in town. I held off on buying one of these thinking they'd put out an actual 100 round extended mag too, after everyone bought these first of course..

Make the cart light aluminum and be able to back down. Almost positive you would be able to sale some. a little moving belt system would be great add on 🤔😉 ✌️👌👍

You should draw up some plans for that shooting box and sell it. I'd buy it. Hell, I'd pay even more for a pre-built or partly assembled one that shipped to my house.

With the price of lumber now, that could be expensive 😉👍

Yeah you may have a 300 high capacity magazine for the crosman DPMS SBR it doesn't change the fact it still shoots only 25 rounds before you have to reload it. Crosman needs to do better to come up with a mag that will feed more than 25 BBs at a time especially if your going full auto with the DPMS its pretty much useless. It be cool if it they could come up with at least 40-50 rounds of BBs at a time on full auto. I notice thru out the years that crosman come out with their semi auto or full auto they are all low capacity mags that won't shoot more than 25 BBs.

It would have been nice if you put it on semiautomatic and demonstrated the quick reload and then counted your shots to verify that it was actually reloading all 25 correctly. I am skeptical of this loading mechanism. I own a powerline 340 pistol with a similar magazine design and on average it loads half of the capacity it is supposed to and I do not think I have ever successfully gotten it to fully load
@AirgunDetectives
@AirgunDetectives 4 года назад
It actually loaded 25 rounds each time flawlessly. I put about 500 rounds through it off camera. You get the same shot count, about 175 shots, as the stock mag. You get a bit less in fully auto. Same performance of the standard mag but this one allows you to internally reloaded 7 times per Co2s, 12 times overall. Thanks for watching!

@@AirgunDetectives thanks for the response. Glad to hear that it works like intended because it was impossible to tell when you were shooting full auto. Keep the great airgun videos coming
