Cross-Country Motorcycle Trip | Untold Stories: Breakdowns, Tacos, & Regrets

In April 2021, I rode my 2003 Harley-Davidson Road King Classic cross-country, alone for over 2800 miles from Pacific Beach in San Diego, CA to Atlantic Beach in Jacksonville, FL.
In this video, I answer some of the most frequently asked questions about my trip including...
How could I run out of gas after only 1 hour?
How did I plan for the trip?
Did I ship my bike?
Did I stay at hotels or camps?
Do I have any regrets?
This video features POV motorcycle riding footage from a GoPro Hero 9 Black as well as clips from my trip.

I so enjoyed your cross country motorcycle trip videos! Wish they were longer, but hey, five hour videos aren’t very practical lol. Thanks for some great views from the road and thank you for keeping the language clean. Most motorcycle videos on RU-vid aren’t something I want to watch much less my wife or grandkids. So, thank you. Ride safe. God bless

There's still plenty of us on RU-vid who would happily watch an extended "producer's cut" of your trip. It would also get you more views out of the same footage for the investment of a bit of editing time.

Thanks again! I’m planning a short trip through the NC/TN mountains in a month or so. And maybe a short series of things I’ve learned or tips/tricks for cross-country travel. Which do you think would be more interesting?
@SaltyPirate71
@SaltyPirate71 3 года назад
@@CrunchMoto I lived in western NC for 5 years and am personally familiar with the NC/TN area, so for my interests and planning multi-state long distance tours on a RK, your cross-country travel experience and pointers would be most beneficial and appealing. However, I will happily watch either, or both.

i watched your complete trip, thank you very much for allowing me to ride along. I have just bought 2003 anniversary Electra Glide Ultra Classic 103 CVO in the shop having some work and getting to ride like you. A very nice relaxing pace, great scenery. A polite tip try make your videos longer and more interesting to attract more viewer attention and return viewers, I personally do not like short Videos,

I just finished the series. Very relaxing and informative. God was looking out for you the whole way. I'm preparing for a trip on my Concours. I paused watching to accept a delivery of a large dry bag. Came back restarted the video and there was the picture of the Vulcan with it's large dry bag. Go figure. After that I have to subscribe. Try making the segments a little longer. You cut a bit too deep. Keep up the good work.

Pretty sure I subbed from your cross country trip...probably. I just did 2400+ miles in 5 days (Ar to Co and back) and passed Cadillac ranch in the middle of a 13 hour riding day. Had a plan to stop... but it was 100+, the crowds were huge, the parking lot looked really full from I-40... and in the end it really a bunch of spray painted cars stuck in the ground, lol. I took a mental picture and kept in the saddle. I also didnt make it into white sands... close... but next time. Loved the parks and passes and the amazing rides in Colorado...truly lifetime memory stuff. Congrats again on your cross country trip. That's huge. I'll have to that one day. 👊

@iujmedw & @ Crunch Moto, I will also be making this venture soon. But will be a round trip. This video hit a lot of important elements I have been searching for, so thank you very much. Have also watched several other videos and visited forums, etc... to gather the intelligence (and some stupidity 🤣) so to understand what to expect. Short rides and weekend trips are a good test of self, gear, and machine. But back-to-back days of riding can be taxing in all areas. Knowing full well that doing is the best experience, but trying to be as prepared as possible. Great video Crunch Moto. And safe travels iujmedw. See you out there!
