Really cool for a Yank who came along a bit after (born 1970) to get this glimpse of what the Brits were already doing putting contemporary music with the Gospel. You lot were about 3 years ahead of the earliest U.S. rock influenced gospel music. (Isabel Baker, 1965. Haven't found anything earlier than that Stateside with a pop/rock sound although there were some folkies coming out about the same time you and the 'Beats were taking up instruments.)
Probably the earliest anywhere in the U K was "A man Dies" in 1960, later recorded on Columbia at Abbey Road studios by Valerie Mountain, Ricky Forde and the Strangers
