Amazing how far and how cheap this technology has come. Back in the 1980's there were a few times I almost bought an industrial plasma system, 4 x 8 and the price was around $30k plus the cutter needed air, nitrogen, and oxygen. Now for a few grand, most guys can have a cnc plasma in their garage. Same thing with hand held plasma machines back in the day. Now a 50 amp cutter is $225 on ebay. Sure glad I never spent the money years ago.
Yeah it is a pretty incredible setup for the money. I have my eyes set on the new langmuir cnc mill. Looks pretty amazing for the money as well. My buddy just got one so I'll see how his is before I drop the 7 or 8k on one.
The company has a limit switch kit available to order now. It helps to avoid crashing in to that topside nut. Hitting 'home' in firecontrol helps clear the torch from the work piece. That might be one of the most used practical functions I often use of the limit switches.
It is a 4.5 hp 220v 80 gallon. I also have an air dryer before the plasma cutter which seems to help quite a bit. Even with 80 gallons it will kick on but I never see a loss in cut quality while the compressor is running
I have the same program, after making the dry run, I try to make the cut and it only makes one cut and stays on in the same place until the machine decides to stop. how could i fix this problem?
I've had mine do that before. My issue is usually resolved by restarting my computer. If it is doing that to you all of the time it sounds like a communication error. Have you tried a different usb port on your computer?
Gravity. If it is a light piece of material you can use a weight to hold it but being that the torch tip doesn't touch the material it often isn't necessary
