Same, I love how confident he is! Little smug smile. He *knows* their miracle worked perfectly. When the angels showed up earlier, Aziraphale was SO nervous, he squinted his eyes shut when he thought it was about to be given away by Gabriel.

I never see anyone commenting about it or using it in edits. I'm still over here wondering what the intention of it was.

Remember when Noe arch was loading animals, Azi told Crowley that Rainbow will be create as a promess to never flood ever again humanity....maybe something in that range.

I have serious suspicions about the Metatron and whether they're really speaking for God or planning to oust them.

I think the tempest is part of Revelations/the Second Coming (but *love* the lyrical allusion of him *being* the tempest). I definitely agree, though, that Metatron is up to something... If not a full-on coup, then definitely at least machinations to control as much of the universe as he can without God smiting him out of existence. He had to separate our heroes for a reason (and the way he glares at Crowley like he's a threat...).

​@@ariaflame-au As Aziraphale said in season 1, the Metatron speaks for God the same way that a president's spokesman speaks for a president. So if you say something to the Metatron, you can only hope that he decides to relay your words to God. And if the Metatron says something to you, claiming those are God's words, you have to believe it because you have no way to verify it. Because God doesn't speak to anyone else but him. At least that's the impression I got watching both seasons. Aziraphale and Crowley were extremely surprised to see that God talked to Job, as if God never talked to them - or to anyone else for that matter. So I doubt God talks to any other angels. It's also possible she doesn't talk to the Metatron either, so he just pretends she is, but he's in fact pushing his own agenda and God doesn't care enough to do anything about it. But it is equally possible the Second Coming really is God's plan, and not just the plan of angels. The way God was portrayed during her chat with Job doesn't exactly paint her in a good light, so destruction of Earth is something she really may be planning.

​@@KnittinKitten1 I think the Metatron didn't like Crowley when he was still an angel. For him he was that annoying guy who asked too many questions. Crowley might also have been quite powerful as an angel (even as a demon he seems to be more powerful than Aziraphale) and definitely very smart. That makes him a dangerous opponent and the Metatron doesn't want to underestimate him. Hence why he offered him a job as Aziraphale's right hand. Keep your friends close but your enemies closer. It's also not out of the realm of possibility that God had once been indeed intrigued by angel Crowley's questions and suggestions, and maybe even toyed with the possibility of creating a suggestion box. And that the Metatron did something to prevent all that because he perceived another angel who could possibly influence God as a dangerous rival. But given how God was characterized in Good Omens, especially in season 2, it's more likely that angel Crowley just extremely pissed her off with his questions (he was essentially saying she was doing a bad job and God doesn't seem to like criticism) and that she gladly cast him down to Hell. On the other hand, it's been thousands of years, God may have evolved and changed her mind about a lot of things. But she may have not...
