I'd be hanging around near a lifeboat, just in case. I've seen Titanic.

I was on this cruise and I can assure you it was not lit

If you look at it on a large scale the ship took that cyclone like a champ! Hats of to the captain and crew for putting themselves on the line and working day and night to keep everyone as safe as possible!

Hats off to the Captain and crew of that ship! They deserve heaps of praise for getting all the passengers safely back to port.

Tip: If you're traveling in a ship and there's a storm. Look around and see if the crew is panicking or not. If they're still going on with their jobs then theres nothing to worry about. But if they too are scrambling for life preservers then I suggest you run to the nearest lifeboat.

Honestly I'm just impressed that ship survived a 3 day long storm and no one died. I bet the whole crew was like 'HOLD BROTHERS!! HOOOLLLDD!!'

in a way, this is a priceless cruise experience. you normally can’t pay for these nice ships to cruise through conditions like this, making this truly one of a kind. in hindsight it’s quite the unique experience.

I feel bad for this people. Not the passengers but the staff who still had to work.

I was on this cruise for my son's 18th Birthday. I love Norwegian and have so much respect for the crew in how calm they were and just kept up at vacuuming up the water, wiping walls down and keeping as much ahead of it as they could. The water was just pounding the glass doors you would use to walk outside and water leaking in was non stop. They did manage to keep most things open and staff had a great attitude the entire time. The ship was definitely bucking a bit but nothing you could not navigate. I just this week got back from a 15 day cruise on the Prima and, as always, the service and staff were impeccable. I do have to say, even though my suite on the Prima was gorgeous and spacious, I much prefer the Breakaway as an overall ship. Much too much space was taken away from the interior of the Prima and given to outside decks. Everything inside, other than my suite, was smaller and way more crowded than on the Breakaway.

How funny would it be if they started playing the Titanic theme song on the speakers

The Privilege of sailing through one of natures greatest events on one of the most harshest environments on the planet at no extra cost !!! YOU LUCKY PEOPLE.

My parents went on a cruise annually for 15 years and loved it! They were extremely lucky! Didn’t encounter any bad storms, norovirus, people fighting etc. They went on many different cruise lines too. I watch these videos and that’s enough cruising for me! 😁

My uncle before he died was on this cruise ship and he told me he was ok with it cause you can't stop the power of god and you can't fear it either.......my uncle died from cancer I love you uncle 😘😍🥰

Whoever decided to put sliding doors on the outside of a ship deserves to be thrown overboard.

never been in a cruise ship but this looks crazy. Its like a floating hotel/mall. Imagine going diving in the wreck of a sunken cruise ship, all those different rooms and corridors just completely underwater

Considering that we now know the storm was a powerful record breaker. Ship and crew came through great. A true testament to the seaworthiness of a huge cruise ship.

I have been on literally dozens of cruises over the past 20 years, probably close to 200 days at sea. The people on board the ship will look back at this as an adventure. I honestly consider them somewhat fortunate that they got to experience the wild side of nature and the ocean. The ship was never in any danger, it is the risk you take when you go on a cruise.

Just imagine having to launch a lifeboat into that!

Cruises are the best. There is something very "magical" about a winter cruise in a horrid storm. Best vacation EVER!!!! I am a adrenaline junky...love the crashing furniture and water. Hell I love this.

In Australia we clipped the edge of a cyclone and it ended up exactly like this, water everywhere and wind whistling, the best part was that they still let me ride the Segways in 50 kmh winds, and my god that was fun, you just have to live with no brakes and an immense tailwind

The lack of announcements to keep passengers informed was shocking.

I was on the sailing. A lot of water damage. We were smart enough to remove bottles and glasses off our counter top in the room. Been on many rough seas cruises so it wasn’t complete hell as others say except that 1am-4am time slot. The listing was definitely hard for some and that’s understandable. Everyone made it back safe and the ship set sail the next day after overnight repairs and inspection. That’s the important part here. Everyone made it safely back to NY. Had we not gone back to NY there would be an uproar as well. Not sure how to please every single person. If you went to the magician show the next night, those who did go out the mood was positive. I can see why there are many videos as well. 3k first timers on board. 1300 repeat passengers. For the 3k newbies it can be a bit scary

Spare a thought for the poor staff who had to listen to all the privileged moaning passengers

The cruise line should not have to compensate people for weather that is out of their control. It's nature. It's not something the cruise did wrong. If anything, passengers should be grateful to the ship's crew especially the captain for keeping them safe in that because that looks not only terrifying but life threatening as well.

Being on a boat during stormy weather isn't as scary as you'd imagine. It's actually exciting. The Captain and the crew are always prepared for this kind of stuff, and the boat is always more that capable of handling stormy seas. Notice how even when there was water pouring from the sealing, all the equipment and lights were still on. The floor was flooded and people were still able to walk around without falling. I'd be having the time of my life.

I served on board a US Navy Frigate (Destroyer Escort). We were at sea during a typhoon in the Pacific in 1978 near our home port of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Witnessed high winds, three waterspouts and rode out large swells on that small naval ship for several days. The bow would climb a swell, then the ship would hang a few seconds at the crest and dive into the next trough, only to plow into the next swell! During one maneuver, the ship nearly rolled over. Everything that was not secured inside the ship became a potential flying hazard, and things that were lashed down often broke loose. We ate sandwiches during the storm because it was impossible to cook for the crew. I have never felt closer to death since that time. I have a deep respect for the ocean now. Many larger ships are lost at sea every year, which is something you should consider before joining a crew or even booking a cruise.

A very beautiful ship indeed, and I LOVE how the staff is constantly cleaning the water inside. But the strong wind, those hurrice noises, and the water falling from roofs makes me scared to death. Norwegian Cruise ships are the best. Wonderful officers, staff, cuisine service and everybody so kind- I know by heart.

I would have gone to deck while pirates of the caribbean theme is playing in background, that would be time of my life.

They should have just given free drinks and all would have been cool in my book. Also I give them props for continuing on and staying on Schedule. I think people forget that earth can be a crazy place . . . I would have enjoyed the trip. ~ Hats off to the Captian .~

All things considered it looks like the crew did great. Every passenger was calm that I saw. The crew had dangerous stairs roped off and were calmly but urgently sweeping away water, furniture was tied down as to prevent pollution and they got home safe. I'd take this cruiseline.

The sea terrifies me. The sheer power of it is incredible. I would have bricked it. So glad I wasn't on that ferry.

That vessel is built like crap. Leaking under exterior doors is one thing, but thru elevator shafts and lighting fixtures is not acceptable.

It would be scary if you fell of at that moment. Seeing the Cruise ship move further away from you and waves crashing down on you. *Chills*

I would’ve taken this as an adventure!! Otherwise, you wouldn’t even feel you’re at the ocean... cruise ships feel like big hotels when everything is calm and steady...
